Man, where to start. Well, since ownership, which was on the 9th of December, I have had nothing but problems. First problem, the coil pack was broken in half. Once that was fixed, the push button start broke. I fixed that, now today the variator messed up and is not charging the battery. Also, the tranny is not shifting back into drive. Is anyone else having these problems or am I just lucky?

we have all had our issues at one time or another but we kind of know this when we buy used. with that being said, the issues you listed aren't as bad as they could be. the coil was an easy fix. as far as the "variator" not charging??? the variator is part of the CVT. i assume you meant the regulator? again, that's not a real big deal. look at it this way. whatever you paid for it, figure about $150-$200 more to do some simple mods and upgrades to have a starting point.
coil,cdi,uni,jets,sliders,mainspring. ...and your regulator.
try adjusting your cable & see if that helps your shifting problem.

I meant the regulator, lol. The cart is brand new. There's no excuse for such problems on something brand new.

did the dealer not do a PDI on it? I have sold several of the gts and have one coming in today and another one ready for pick up, I havent had an issue with any of them but not to say I wont.

the regulator is on the side of the electrical box, make sure the wires are plugged in good, check the idle as if its to high then it wont shift right and make sure the choke has turned off, lower the idle a tad might help.

if that dosent help the shifting then the cable may need adjusting

unless you bought it from gokartusa then you are much better off on this board than trying to contact the dealer.

but if they are a legit dealer they should be willing to help you.

Did you buy it assembled or in a box?

I bought it assembled. They are doing the warranty work on it, but its still a hassle to take it back and forth ya know.

Got the cart back today. Had to tighten down all the fenders bc they were rubbing the front tires. I did, however, manage to get the cart to 49.4mph...

Just scored a radar from an old cop car at work.
Guess we could really get an accurate speed on these things!

I got it from our mechanic who striped everything out of the old cruisers berore they went to scrap. He's got one too, set it up in his back yard and clocked his pit bike at 24mph and his neighbors 300EX at 28

What? Radar at the Bash? ok, I'll admit it, 32mpg might have been a little high for my buggy. Its more like 18~20mph. Wow, i feel better now that I got that off my chest.
