Hello everyone. I have been a lurker here for awhile and thought I would share my little buggy project with you. Started out with the intentions of building a gocart with suspension and grew from there. Went from a Yamaha Dt125 2 stroke (which I melted a piston in) and currently powered by a Suzuki GS250 motor complements of ebay. Built in my garage from the ground up as a winter project. Can't wait for the snow to go to put some time on it!

Actually the seat will be going ..replaced by a new one from Summit Racing set up for a 5 point harness. I have 2 of these which I picked up on the side of the road for the trash man. Available to anyone who wants to pick one up.

BIGE, yes that is the brake rotor and caliper from the GS250 on the jackshaft. Keeps it up and away from rocks and things. Jabo, I'm in western MA too. Cummington. Know any good places to ride. Gotta go throught the ordeal of getting the buggy inspected for a serial number for registration this spring.

Nice Build Job!!! I see what appears to be cooling fans mounted behind the seat. The GS250 is an air cooled motor right??? How are the cooling fans controlled, temp switches, manual, or both? I like the braking mounted up high at the rear too. Send us some vids of that thing in action! Give Jabo a punch in the arm for me when you meet him, he's a good man!!! Van

eggyhed it's way faster than needed. I have actually lowered the gearing twice to try and slow it down and get a crawler 1st gear out of it. Think it's about right now. Around the yard in 1st and second, can hit third and fourth in fron toff the house with 2 more gears to go (6 speed tranny).
Crazed, there is one 10" fan mounted above the motor. It is controled by the ign. switch, on whenever the motor is running. That and the shroud above it should supply enough airflow to cool the engine. After running it around the yard a bit in 55-60 degree weather you can put your hand on the vavle covers with no problem. The only drawback with the jackshaft mounted disc brakes is on the off-chance I should break a chain (unlikely as it's 530 chain) you would have no brakes. I want to get a few hours on the thing in testing then it's teardown, paint and details.
