Sean has commented that he intends to make rollers available so if you're pretty sure you want to re-engine it, check with Sean or Rob to see if they can supply just the rolling chassis to you.

I hear the LT2 is available in roller. Looks like a nice buggy.

I do not see where that would be a huge fix, I need to see the part, but I have had and made my self many Cryo-streghtened axles and drive shafts. As soon as I get one we will see. I wonder which rep can send me one faster?
Questions: Can the cast inner CV housing of the stock buggy axle be hardened cryogenically? Does the composition of the housing material need to known to do this? I have often thought about trying to get this done, but have not pursued it. Any thoughts on this would be helpful.
It is my opinion that if the other components are of sufficient quality or replaced/repaired to the betterment, the inner housing is still a weak point as the cast material is too soft and quickly "cups" along the bearing (tri pot) contact surface. This will lead to eventual excess play and place increased stress loads on the inner CV components. This may be unique to the manufacturer that supplied my axles as others have not had these problems. At this time, I believe quality control with many of these individual components is a dirty diaper shoot.
I bought my 800 as an inexpensive starting point for modifications and off road fun. To date, the experience has been both frustrating and rewarding. However, it has been more fun than not and it has been performing pretty well as of late. To date , with all the mods and upgrades, I still only have a modest investment in it when compared to other choices. The LJTech platform offers the same type of starting point for those of us that like to tinker, but with an upgraded platform from the one I started with. There are better, albeit more expensive, turnkey options out there than this platform, but for the shadetree mechanic, this is a hard one to pass on.
I agree with Micks, assessment. Our stumbling block is the inner CV housing. All else can be replaced fairly easy. My Axle shop told me to look into getting it hardened, I think they were talking about an electrolisis instead of cryogenic. I am not familiar with either.
I am going to try to order a set of 85-88 chevy sprint axles and try to take them apart (I have only taken apart broken ones and they fell apart in my hands ) I will swap the inner parts and continue to look for a solution for the inner hub.
I would use a joyner inner hub, but the axles were a larger diameter and I am assuming they will not swap with our axles.
Even if Sean comes up with stronger axles, I think I will swap out the parts I can with Chevy Sprint bearings, races, tripod, and outer CV and hub. I want as little Chinese Metal in it as possible PS he still has one of my Junked inner hubs.
For the record and etification the team in Team-Moto no longer exists. I'm pretty sure they were disbanded. There is Super-Karts (Sean) and Team Moto Performance Products (Rob). Last I heard they were not in business with each other. Sold a few buggies together and split. Both support the larger buggies though.
from what i know they are split. I am getting ready to order two of these, I hope all goes well and this axle issue is fixed. I can not even attempt to see if we can make one until I get the car in my hand. Sean told me 4 to 8 weeks.
LJ Tech = sean Just FYI. Take a look at ebay and the new user name for LJ Tech it was changed from "seaneva". It looks like Sean is selling the Chinese buggy as LJtech and the LT2 (american buggy) as Superkarts. If this has already been brought up sorry for reposting the info. I am seriously considering one of the 1000 cc buggies (waiting for the CARB approval).
i have spoke extensively with Sean in the last week. He has my confidence. I am ordering two buggies, one as a demo, one to sell. We are going to load one up, with every option you can think of and keep one stock. We have a huge event coming up soon and I hope we can move them and make some inroads to improve these 1000CC carts. If I sell these before the event, I will probably order 5 or more. We will see once i see the car. Does it take a full 8 weeks to get these things?

Mine took like 9 weeks but that was also the first run. I think 8 weeks is a good estimate. It might be less since they have a decision made etc., when I ordered mine there was some decision making going on. Vanet ordered after me but his came in the same shipment to give you an idea what I mean.
I look forward to hearing about changes you guys try. I'm always up for faster and better.
I hope it gets here faster. Does anyone have any more pictures of these? Paul
