 Post subject: help on limit strap length

What length should the limit straps be? The guy at the store is telling me to measure full extended length.

Jack up the buggy, remove the lower rear shock bolt, slowly lower the swingarm until it stops, then measure from the center of the top shock bolt to the center of the bottom shock mount hole. That distance is how far your swingarm can extend before your cv joints will self destruct. Get some limiting straps that are at least an inch or two shorter. Make sure the straps are shorter than the fully extended length (from bolt center to bolt center) of your shocks.

On the 800cc buggies, I believe 21.5 to 22" is the standard length to strap the shocks. Many of us have the straps from Sway Away.
