Pud I don't know if changing the running gear(sprocket)will make a difference because the buggy has good speed, about 36mph in which most cases, will keep up to most chinese buggies, this is on level ground-asphalt road. I believe it is in the carberate intake and also in exhaust output, that Robin engines put more stress in making them very quiet and at the cost of power. I have to be careful in modifying the engine because of the emince amount of mud and water I pick up while trail running. It is bad enough that the electronic system is not CDI weather proof. I have hit water holes and splashed water around the sparkplug and wire, making it stall and miss. After I wash it,and I get water around the sparkplug,it will not start for quite some time.Taking the plug wire off and wiping it and the plug head off with a cloth can sometimes speed this up, but not much, it still has to air dry.

Thanks, Mancoman
ok i got you mancoman changing to smaller sprocket there you would loose some speed. thats pretty good 36mph on flat ground, is that running out of belt or bumping it againist the governor? i think i would look into getting a 7mm or 8mm ngk plug cap which ever the one that fits your plug wire and replace that one they seal better and spray it with selicone. maybe you could put some pictures up of your carb, airfilter and exhaust setup then that away it might help to see what you can do there to help for more power, guys around here like pictures pud

I had a warehouse located about 2 miles from where I live, in which I stored 2 buggy carts and my open deck trailer. One buggy is the Manco 640L that I write about on Buggynews quite often. The other was a Ken-bar large D690 2 seater buggy-80 inches long 50 inches wide, with 16 inch front and 22 inch rear tires. It had a 10hp Tecumseh engine, which had a fuel pump,a dipstick to check the oil-this same dipstick part was how I would refill the crankcase with oil after changing, it also had a rear differential to shift power from one rear tire to the other. It was rated high performance and would hit about 42 mph, much faster and more powerful than the Manco 640L, it had no suspension and no reverse and was not a trail running buggy and only built for one thing-Speed!! We would take this buggy out to my wife's parents in the country and i would hit top speed on a non yellowline asphalt road with my average run being over 4 miles one way. Back in early July of 2007 I decided to take the Manco 640L to the private club we belong to and do some mud-running trail riding,it was hot that day almost mid 90's.When I got to my warehouse,it was locked but the right side side of the door had been forced pushed in,so I unlocked the door and pulled it open and it was completely empty! Dirty, lowlife theives had stolen both of my buggies,my trailer, and all of my buggy accessories! I was shocked and sick to my stomach and felt violated. I had discovered this about 4:00pm and called the county sheriff to report the theft.About 8:00pm that night I got a call from a friend saying that they had given a high speed chase to what sounded like my Manco 640L,we came to find the driver was a 35 year old man who during the chase had blown through stop signs, stoplights and alleyways. He was able to keep ahead of the power of a car. I met up with my friend and we drove past a well known convenience store and there sat my Manco 640L, the 35 yr old man was inside,he did not try to run and the police arrested him. So after about $400.00 in damage I was able to regain my Manco 640L Here it is 9 months later and I have never heard one word about my Ken-bar 690 buggy,my trailer or other equioment from the law enforcement. The case has gone cold!!! Mancoman
