Well, I started rebuilding the front end of the Yerf today and hit a major snag. After installing all the aftermarket parts in the front end, my tie rods are to short! With the front wheels straight and the wheel centered, both sides are an inch short of even reaching the tie rod ends. I can lengthen the tie rods but wish I had known it was coming so I wouldnt have been so ill about it Any other Yerfs run into this?

if you are running the Buggy Depot ball joints, you need to put only about three turns of the tie rod in the arms. Most likely you are also getting joint bind due to the extra angle. BD sells standoffs to compensate for the additional ball joint height and the tie rods will not have to be adjusted.

No peter, you misunderstood me. They are not binding, they wont even reach the tierod end when its bolted to the spindle. Wheels straight forward the tierods like an inch of even reaching the tie rod ends. I am going to have to lengthen the tie rods.

There is no adjustment. The tierod is bolted to the Rack and pinion, there is an inch of distance betweend the tierod and tie rod end at the wheel side.

i see what you mean peter i thinks thats what he needs adding those will bring the tie rod up which will bring them in closer. i got into this when i replace my struts on my buggy. i got one strut that was the same that came on this buggy and one that the steering tab was down farther on the strut.when i went to hook it up it dropped the angle of steer rod from rack down which then when i hook it up my toe end on one wheel was pulled way in.i got mine lined back up with the adjustment on tube between steering rack and tie rod end.just like a turn buckle or a screw binder you would use to tighten a chain. if i look at the picture wright his wheels would be turned out where mine was turned in do to the fact that my tie rod mounts the front and yerf mounts the back.
not trying to hack jack his post but does any one know the length of the front shocks on a yerf center to center of shock eyes?????
