 Post subject: honda rubicon engine
PostPosted: Fri Jan 06, 2006 2:12 am
talked with a guy yesterday about using a honda rubicon engine in a homebuilt buggy. it's electric shift on fly tranny with it's own differential. has full forward/neutral/reverse. 3 power takeoff modes, dont know the HP, but with a few air/fuel mods, said to be a beast. any thoughts on using these?

a few more shots of rubicon.

personally, i think this would be a great engine and tranny to put in a homebuilt buggy. get it lined up right, you have you auto tranny, plus different power modes, or electric shift on the fly. now, if you could rig up some paddle shifters, pretend you're driving a ferrari.

to have one built, a single seater, $12,000. that's with disk brakes, powdercoated, racing seat, etc. oh, and a brand new rubicon engine.

Many of the larger ATV's especially the 4wd are using cvt tranny's now, I am talking the 700+ cc ones like Bombadier and Kawasaki with low and HI gear... man would that be cool in a kart, but you would wind up tearing apart a new ATV to build the kart
