years ago, i suggested to micheal at kinroad the very same thing. the split sprockets would be so much better for changing out, alot easier and would sell much better because of the ease.

I like your thinking. If I read right those things are breaking 60 out the box, that would leave me with plenty of room to find some bottom :D Whats that gonna cost if you dont mind. I wish you could get some split sprkets for easy changing

Im waiting on a reply from them on the cost, and if you want splits, they can make anything you want to your spects

The Phoenix comes with a double sprocket and chain.
craZy and I measured the sprocket hub width to the distance between the teeth on each one, its the same distance.
If I mount the new 52s one on each side of the hub it will fit perfect. But I will have to take the hub off and spin it around because it is not centered on the axle.
And their is room between the sprocket and the frame to possibly go up to a 60 if I chose to ( but I'm not), but I will need to get the dimensions on it to know for sure.
I want all the torque I can get, without being too slow.
The new exhaust has me topping out around 70+ if I had to guess, Its way too fast right now for trail use.

Man the more I hear about these things the more It sounds like the best for the price. 70 is alot for a 4 stroke buggy with basic mods. No cams or any thing right.

The only problem with the split sproket is I dont know if you could use them with so few bolts on each side. If the buggy was able to use them and the price was right I would have no less than 3 sprokets at all times. High, low, and mid.

Im really surprised about switching sprocks and all! What I saw on the 300 was it didnt really need anything. If you were going to change the sprock go a few teeth maybe .Remember it will change you ground clearence.

I rarely touch the ground!! LOL ... I don't know for sure how fast it is, Eric said he was running 53mph when I flew past him and he estimated around 65mph then,,
Now after the new FMF Factory4 exhaust for a 700 king quad on it and a larger fuel line and the new 42 1/2 main jet it winds out even more and is extremely fast. I definitely don't need or want this much speed.
Its fun as he77 screaming across my field but is pretty dangerous to even try the trails at that velocity.
If I can shave about 10 to 15mph off of it and gain some bottom end torque with a new 52 tooth double sprocket then that's what I'm going to do.
craZy seems to think a change from my 43 tooth to 52 tooth sprocket would make a he77 of a lot more torque.
WE SHALL SEE!!
I'M also waiting to hear back as to when the 350cc kit will be here and I want to get the malossi clutch and maybe try the new cam Eric spoke of and whatever Rodeo Ducks secret mod is. I WANT AND NEED it all!! LOL

By doing the sprocket change you'll have to change the chain as well (we'll at least you do on a atv) so I'm guessing its the same principal?

I also wonder if the sprocket change will be more effective low end tq. vs a cvt upgrade (of some sort)? I would like to get a little more low end out of ours, just not sure which way to go. Big E has some rollers on order for me.

Didn mean for that to sound smarta$$, Just wondered what have you done so far?
My exhaust caused me to lose some bottom end and gain top end.
It still goes great but I want better! and Its TOO FAST!!

I counted the sprockets on my 300 and came up with 13 top and 44 bottom which gives me a 3.38 to 1 ratio I thought about looking into a 12 tooth top sprocket which would give me a 3.66 to 1 ratio . If you install a 52 tooth sprocket you will definately loose ground clearence but it will give you a 4.00 to 1 ratio . Last weekend I had mine on almost any type of terrain you can think of and it performed actually better than I expected . Alot of buggies have a Hi Lo trans but I think the 300 really does,nt need it . Funnyman witnessed what my 300 is capable of whether it was on hard pack running 60 + MPH or from a dead stop sitting in a mud hole up to its axles and pulling out with no problem it worked very well with the gearing it came with .
Keep in mind guys that this is a new buggy out on the market and we the owners of the first ones will be doing the final R&D that Kinroad diddnt do . But for as few bugs as the 300 has for as new as it is I see no problem doing it . The Mirriors stock Do leave something to be desired but if you rebend the mirrior mounting post slightly they work pretty well . Below is a pic .
If you have read my review I did post a list of what I thought were Must things to do . All of which take very little time to do .
Necessary Changes
#1 Shim the tierods
#2 Slightly Relocate the Steering rack ( Move it to the Left )
#3 Fuel system upgrade
#4 Shim the shifter cable & adjust
#5 Fab & Install side panels
Also bend the mirrior posts for better visibility

I have had No interferance problem with my steering and throttle cable
and have not bottomed out the rear shocks yet . They actually worked quite well in some kinda large whoops at 40 + MPH . Heck there was A Sport quad riding with us that wouldnt run with me on them :D .
