I haven't got a turbo yet - but soon. I've been analyzing kits available from WEST_COAST, TurboDude, Joyner and Super Karts to determine which is the best for the money. Does anyone (end user) have a turbo on their 1100? If so, tell us about it!
If you are going to get sand paddle tires for your 1100, don't get the ones from Joyner. They're 12" wide, look cool and have 16 paddles, but they suck. Mine started to come apart at about 15 hours use. I had to put the stock tires back on at Little Sahara in Utah. The interesting thing is that in an uphill drag race with Trmn8tr's 1100 (with joyner paddles), I beat him running my stock tires  He got me about 1 length out of the hole, but then I stomped him.
Since then, I had Larry at Skat-Trak make us 2 sets of 9-paddle Extremes on 26x12x12 Maxxis carcasses. We tried them out last weekend. Trmn8tr left his Joyner paddles on so we could compare them to the Skat-Traks on mine - HUGE difference :bananadance
We immediately went back to camp and put the 2nd set of Skat-Traks on his 1100. They make the Joyner much faster in the sand and handle much better.

That's some interesting stuff on the tires. I guess the sand conditions are always changing.
I had my 650 at Sand Mountain with mud lites and it was hot out so the sand was very silky and it would just spin out like I was in snow, would not climb at all.
When the sand is damp it would pull better without having sand paddles.
I agree on the Joyner tires, the stock 2 ply tires come apart in no time. Even Roketa's comes with better rubber than these.

Hello everyone, I took the new 1100cc Joyner out for its first serious run since purchase and have a couple of questions I hope someone can help with. First off, the thing ran great. comments? advice? Thanks

Hi Tom

I was just doing some adjustments on the 1100 getting ready to put a couple hundred miles on it this weekend.

I see in your picture you have some kind of device mounted just left of the radiator above the coolant over flow bottle. What is that?

Also how is your fuel gauge adjusted, mine reads empty when it still has about 2 gallons in it.

Thanks, Jim

Ok here goes, I've got a knock in the right rear shock, I think. Just running down my street yesterday, when i hit the speed bumps i get this knock. Over extension maybe? Am going to make some adjustments this am and see what happens, but I believe it is in the shock. Another question, does anyone else's front end push real bad on the asphalt? Can i adjust this? Also does the fan always run? Thanks, John

The push is common in Joyners and one of the things I dont like. Some others have eliminated the shock "knock" with limit straps. Thats only if its caused by over extension.

I put limit straps on to stop the knock at over extension.

Locked rear end, don't handle well on asphalt. Its the way I would want it though for added traction on the loose stuff.

My fan runs all the time on 1100

Jim,
It looks like the bushing at the top of the shock is bent. The right shock twists from side to side very easily as the left won't twist at all. You think Emrock would have something like that?

If he don't have in stock he can order it.

I doubt individual parts are available for the shock. Is it a part that can be removed or changes?

I would bet your turbo kit doesnt look like this, And it probably doesnt even have a header. I also sell kings for the Joyner 1100cc feels like riding on a cloud. I would bet they dont have a third party dyno slip like I do that shows a gain of 43 hp. at the wheels with our turbo kit . e-mail me at spike2@peak.org
Later W.C.

I am about ready for a turbo setup, just looking into the different companies offering them.
Nobody has an updated web site to explain what makes there's better or worse and I don't know that much about them.

How far are you from Reno?

Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the e-mail Jim I sent you some info . The shops in Hunnington Beach Ca. Like I said nobody else has a header or a dyno sheet that I've seen, that says alought to me.
If you see a factory hp. rating it is at the flywheel and our test's are at the wheels. The true way to measure horse power.
