Hey guys, saw the Joyner thread and thought I'd drop by.
I am not saying this to make anyone mad, this is just my opinion from what I know.
In my humble opinion, the Joyner 250 is underpowered. A couple Northeast league members up here have one and we've had it in our shop and upgraded the clutch to a Malossi, DRpulley variator and sliders, intake, rejet and a performance exhaust and his sons GT150 still smokes him! He sold it to another guy who had me replace all the gears and bearings just so it could be all "new" and just left my shop today with his new HH250SS and now wants to sell the Joyner.
It has a very wide turning radius and is just too heavy for that 250 motor. I also don't like the way you have to position your feet off to the right for the peddles.
Now, I'll also say that it is the toughest buggy I've seen! Big ol' fat steering arms and struts etc but I really can't see you getting all 4 tires off the ground. (We've tried!)
I like Joyner, they are a good company, imo, in the top 3 or 4 but they also know the 250 is underpowered. Their market is 650cc's and up, mostly on the West coast due to our width restrictions here on the east.

Carter Bros are trying to clean up their act. I think they have clear goals and are showing they want to be in this market.
The GTR300 is a great example.

Hammerhead Offroad is falling fast. They lose dealers like I go through buggies! :-) Things seem to be falling apart there. They have some history there and may be able to pull their butts out of the fire but I'm not holding my breath for any time soon.

And BIGE,
Way to go man! You're kicking butt down there! I'm real impressed in how far you've come in such a short time!
A true testament to your good character!

Joyner:
1. The dual range CVT gives Joyners much more flexibility where they can go.
2. The long travel front end is rugged, yet provides good ride.
3. A locked rear is a must where I ride or I would be spinning one tire.

Carter:
1. There is more room inside this buggy yet it is almost 200 lbs lighter.
2. Top end on the SYM engines makes them faster than other buggies in this class.
3. Turning radius is tight for a buggy of this size.

Both of these buggies are constructed well, but perform better in different terrain. If you look at Team Farm's photos verses mine http://www.buggynews.com/northwest-regional-buggy-bash-2008-vf54.html, you realize why each of us have chosen and tuned the buggies we own.

I am going to pick up the first order at the new east coast warehouse. Joyner is a very strong buggy, with the h/l tranny it still out performed some of the others.

they do well at our riding areas here. its about what you are going to be useing it for, terrian, rider, and budget.

WOW! This is huge, the GT150 stock (since I didn't see any mods) smokes a 250 Joyner with every mod available installed? Is that off the line or Top end speed? I can remember my 150 beating my 250, but only because the 150 was modded and only off the line did the 150 win. If the 150 is stock, and it beats the Joyner in both areas, then it is WAY underpowered.

In current tune, my SandViper 250 will redline at 55 mph on the road in high range and climb verticals in low. I'm sure there are tighter handling buggies that can accelerate faster, but I doubt there are many that handle this range. Who want's to go riding to find out?

this weekend we will be comparing my 06 joyner to firebird81's carter gtr 300 we will see but i think that my buggy still is a little unbroken in yet so we will see its a little slow but it gets faster every time i drive it
