I'm not completely sure about this but doesn't the Carter have an open rear diff? (...only one wheel spinning at a time). In my type of riding this would definitely be a minus. Please correct me if I'm wrong about this.

Like Eggy said, With the buggies that you've mentioned it is pretty much a coin-flip.
Where are you going to ride your buggy? There's a bunch of us in the Northeast Buggy Group (http://www.northeastbuggy.com) that get together, ride and help each other out. We've got some private and semi-private areas in South Jersey. There's a few places in PA and some down in VA that are nice.

Nobody gets stuck in a GTR. They did switch to the differential because of turning issues, yes.

no not one wheel drive like the old gokarts but it has two wheels driving untill you turn then it loosens the power on that wheel so if you were to get one back wheel up in the air you'd but up fecal matter creek but it does have a great plus for turning radius and it can actually turn with out screeching the tires one pavement

Forget the cc's and concentrate on price and build quailty. The 300 is not worth 1100 more than the 250, you can buy a bolt on kit to bump the 250 to 300cc for 600.00 and that price will probably go down as they get more popular. I hate to say this and I wouldnt have a few years ago, but the Joyner has proven to be the best built and best designed buggy out there. That being said there is alot to say for having a local dealer. Bottom line go look at what your local dealer has and what kind of an operation he is running. If you are impressed buy from him, if not buy a Joyner and mod it for more power. If you dont one day you will run into a Joyner and wish you had. No offence but those other buggies you are talking about are just roketas with fancy stickers.

always try and buy from a local dealer. that 300 kit from mrp is not a true 300. it only puts it up to 277cc, and the cylinder is on back order and they are saying to bore your cylinder 75mm over size.
the joyner is a great buggy along with the carter twister and blade and kinroad.
