Very frustrated with our Sand Devil - have had it since Sept. 2005 - have only had it out 3 times and everytime we take it out it stops running - had to be towed in the Dunes (That sucks!) Have had it worked on twice and noone seems to know why it won't stay running. Now we can't even get it started. Don't know what to do other than throw it off a cliff. Any suggestions?????

Sorry to hear so many problems. I know the carb can be a problem because of the automatic choke problems it can have. I start mine by squirting gas in the intake hose bypassing the choke, I use a cheap battery tester bulb to squirt the gas in, resulting immediate start up. Can only be a couple of things wrong, check for spark and gas, if both of them are good, then I would guess in the timing or valve adjustment. The man to ask would be Glade from edgepwr.com.

I would be glad to help out..... Give me all the symptoms you can think of before it quits running. Any mods?
Thanks for the help! I will get back to you with more information. Right now we can't get it started at all. But, the last time we had it out riding it would start ok, but, after a while of riding it would starting cutting out and then eventually die. Then it would be hard to get started again. We thought it was electrical, had someone look at that and could not find anything wrong. That's a start!

My initial thoughts were that It might need to be properly jetted or something to do with the coil. That is usually what causes a machine to cut out. If you are getting too much fuel the carb could be loading up and that is why it is hard to start after it quits. It is flooded. What is your altitude. These buggys are set up for sea level and if you go up in elevation then the carb is getting too mcuh fuel depending on how high up you are. Just some thoughts.
I can help you with your cart. I have worked on countless buggies.. devilville I might even know you.. I had to tow alot of these carts in the dunes. Did you buy it from thundermotor sports?
Im in Gilbert and I will fix it cheaper than anyone around. and faster.
I can even do free pick up in a 15 mile area. but a min charge of 25 for the troubleshooting you know to cover gas and time.
Well we replaced the starter - and it seems to be running right now. We have decided to upgrade to a larger engine machine. Do you know anyone who might be interested in buying a Joyner 250? Thanks for the offer-if we continue to have problems I will get back to you. Yes we did buy it from Thunder Motorsports. Thanks again.
