Alum. wheels will get you more wheel speed. The weight difference between alum and steel wheels is astonishing. But if you ride in a lot of rocks, watch out. The alum rims can be damaged easily. The steel rims will bend just as easy, but you can usually take a hammer and bend them back so the tire will seat. I know your mostly in sand geek, so go for it!

na not sand i will be keeping the set i have now for big bear riding its very rocky up there but in the desert its rare that you hit a larger rock
