Great job!!! but I still wonder if the helper spring is not needed. Mine was popping out of gear with the cable slacked right out of the crate. Maybe a stiffer torsion spring would still be beneficial. I guess just I need to try it out.

Even with some cable slack and in forward gear, there can still be too much play on the end of the shaft where it attaches to the shift arm. Enough play where it won't go into forward gear or if it does...it will pop in and out of gear cause the shaft moves back and forth inside the arm.

Looks like you got it. So, how many of those $20 brackets do you think you can sell?
This new arm has TOTALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM. Shifts great....does not grind at all....goes into forward and reverse EASILY! Does not pop out of gear in forward or reverse. Actually this new arm lines up much better with the cable. Who needs one?

Your shift arm kit will be shipped PRIORITY MAIL on Monday. Davin at KINROAD USA has agreed to pay for it. We just test rode one for 30 minutes.....difference is amazing....this does FIX the PROBLEM. Does not pop in/out of gear and shifts EASILY.
These Kinroad 250 karts are pretty good.....they just blew it on some of these shifter arms on the gearbox. Once this is fixed....I think you'll be happy.

Well I don't know......they're kinda a pain in the $ss to make. Have to measure and cut the steel.....then end mill the slot and then hand file till it fits just right. Then weld on the curved cable attachment piece. So it's definitely worth $20....especially if you're having gearbox problems. It does solve the problem. I rode my green 250 last night for over an hour and had absolutely NO SHIFTING problems at all. I was thinking maybe $25 + shipping.
