I'm looking in to a new welder i found a tig welder for 250$ what would treat me better? I'm getting kinda tired of the stick welder. to much slag.

I MIG weld it is fine but if you can get a TIG welder $250 you might want to get both. The TIG is great for super strong welds you can heat the material up first and the start welding when it is ready. MIG is fine for welding any of these buggy frames though. If you have never TIG welded you may want to go with the MIG it is simple.

Is that a good quality name brand TIG welder? or a Harbor Freight special?
You really don't need a TIG to weld the mild steel on go kart frames. GOOD TIG welders are NOT CHEAP and TIG supplies and gas are rather expensive. I have a Lincoln AC225 stick welder and use it all the time. With the right rod and settings, it does and darn fine job.....cheap too.
I also have a Lincoln Diamond Digital MIG that cost me $1700. I rarely use it cause I'm usually just welding mild steel. I'll fire the MIG up if I'm trying to weld thin stuff, but otherwise just use the stick welder.

mig 110 volt flux core welder is all you need for these buggies, they will weld up to 3/16 steel without a problem and i haven't seen anything on mine thats any thicker. i purchased a lincoln from home depot, works great and sometimes i wonder what i'd do without it.

I wanted to try to get something without slag build up that i have to clean off. And when i try to build metal up it always has slag in it. When im welding on a 90 slope with my stick the weld and slag tends to fall off.

I guess ill get this one unless you guys know of a cheaper one that will work just as well.

I was unable to see what welder you linked it jsut shows a results page with 29,000+ returns on your search. What make and model welder is it?

I have the exact same welder mine is a model from about 5 years ago but the same thing it work well on all types of mild steel.
