These mounts sheared off at there weakest points. But now do I beef up that point and worry if they may brake off the block mounts? There is no flex on this mounting system. Like a normal car engine mounts having rubber pads between the frame and the engine these don't. They mount straight from the block to the frame. Has anyone have had these brake or been modified?

Is there enough clearance to add rubber blocks between the engine and mounts?

What about gusseting the mounts so they do not flex?

Could you add additional mounts to the engine that would distribute the load on impacts?

Hey Joe,
Yes I have had them break, not clean off like those.
I cut the tube portion of the mount off and fitted a new tube with a length of rubber hose inside to serve as the cusion between the bolt and tube . I also fitted some 1/4" angle iron where it mounts to the block. Problem solved.

Finally fixed the mount. Wound up going with 1/4" angle and added a slightly softer inner tubing like you you said Greg. Getting the bolt's to line up was tricky. But seems to be in pretty nicely. Also the shifting into 2nd is not into the seat anymore. More centrally located. And about all the mods I spoke to you about. Well, we'll see not sure if it's worth all the time and effort.

Had to sooner or later upgrade to a real car batterie.
Durralast 760 CCA just had to modify the batterie mount.

It all looks really nice Joe as usual, Havent had any problems with the smaller battery "YET" . I will probably do the same when I get done fabing in the Geo engine in the next couple of weeks.
Wow you went all out on the swing arm boxing, I only did the sides and havent bent them. Those look like some bitchen class 2 offroad stuff.
