Front and Rear Lower Motor Mounts done. Welds aren't pretty but it will hold. Next it to verify placement and then tack weld, then start fabricating the two top mounts.

Top right mount done and tacked down. One more to go, the top left mount.

Upper left mount done. All tacked on. Had to make part of it removable, so I can still remove the engine. Next is to remove the engine and clean and finish up welding all the mounts permanently.

Broke out the Simple Green and cleaned up the engine compartment and seating area. sprayed with Rustoleum Blue Cobalt Metallic. Looks purple when the flash hits it, but the blue match is very close. Mostly to keep the bare metal from rusting. Next it to make a bunch of drain holes in the pan and hit it with more paint in the driver/passenger areas

Not much done over the weekend. Pulled the timing belt cover and verified the timing belt was good to go. Drained all fluids from the engine/transaxle. Pulled both pans and stripped and painted and reinstalled with black rtv. Drilled all the floor pan drain holes to keep the pan from rusting. Next is to pull the trans off to verify clutch/plate condition. Then I can finally drop the engine back in the buggy.

Pulled the clutch out for inspection. It's a LUK brand and doesn't look too bad as far as I can tell. The only thing that I see replacing is the release and pilot bearing. What do you think?

Disk looks ok, it must have been changed. How does the throw out bearing feel it may be alright as well.

Feels a bit loose, hence why I am changing it. While I am there, the pilot bearing too.

Yah now is the time to do that stuff while it's out. Better safe then sorry later.

Power washed the transaxle and mounted the brake splitter in it's new location. Ordered the clutch release bearing, which will be in tomorrow. Need to R&R the pilot bearing, then put the engine/transaxle back in the buggy.

New pilot and release bearings installed. Clutch installed. Ran out of light but got my shiny new Header and Downpipe, nice!!

Verified pilot bearing still turns. Good to go. Put Transaxle back on the engine. Ground down some bar the previous owner cut so it's all clean and painted. Engine drop in tomorrow.

Engine dropped in. Always scary having an engine so high up in the air. Stressful. Mounted the Header and Downpipe, perfect fit. So far so good.
