This was sitting for 2 yrs and I took off carb cap with large spring and the "diaphram" to shoot some starting fluid in bowl and clean up. When I did this the plastic piece that holds the needle came out along with a small spring and a very small washer...all fell apart. I'm not sure how it goes back together. The cap and the outer large spring is easy...it's the remainig pcs I'm not sure of. I put the washer over the needle first, then the needle thru the plastic pc. The small spring, I think, goes into the top of the plastic pc but not sure. Also not sure if small washer goes on before or after the needle. Does anyone have a cut sheet for this simple carb??? It started right up but when I give it gas it stalls out. It didn't do this before I took it apart so it has to be the way i've got it back together. Does this needle move up and down when gas is applied??? Not sure of the operation.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shari

The washer would slide over the needle to adjust the needle height. it's a performance mod. Order of assembly would be washer, needle through the washer, spring, plastic needle retainer (which should be inserted and turned to hold needle in position).

Hi Stardawg, and welcome to Buggy News!

The numbered parts are:

8. Rubber diaphragm
15. Carb bowl drain screw
18. Bowl float spring
19. Main Jet
20. Main jet holder (brass fitting)
22. Pilot Jet
23. I think this is the idle - but can't be sure

Hope this helps.

-Mike
