recently bought a 05 JOYNER 650 spider, it was running fine and then it started to run very rich spitting out black smoke and backfiring. i made no prior adjustments nor changes. bought a k&N air intake and mounted it right on carb to hope it would even out mixture....didnt work.also changed: timing, mixture, spark plugs.....? i have it at the shop now but im in vegas and nobody knows how to work on these. where can i find a jet kit for this stock carb??? and i've also seen the upgraded weber carbs from fast freddys. can anyone tell me what specific model # that is so i can purchase it on my own or just a good substitute carb. i only have so much money now and need to do things step by step. i really need help. i miss my buggy and miss riding, i really need your help,,,anyone.

They have a manual choke. Are you sure that it is not hanging up somehow? Also....by putting the air filter right on the carb it would not help because the carb will not be getting the volume of air needed to help the mix.

If it all the sudden started running rich then it can only be a few things. Your are not getting enough air(intake restricted?) or too much fuel(choke stuck?)

Just a couple of things to think about
