hey everyone, i just got a dazon in a trade and ive been working on it for the past few weeks, i took it apart and painted it and rewired parts of it, but now that its all back together i had a few questions for you experienced people. ha
1. i found out that there is no radiator, well i didnt get one. so where can i get a dazon radiator? or is there a less expensive or a better radiator that i can put on that will work better?

2. i warmed it up even though theres no radiator to see if it would drive down my driveway, it starts but as soon as i give it any gas it putters out and dies. however when i let it idle but lift up the rear end the tires will spin. any ideas whats wrong?

3. i need a new seat. can i get a replacement thats better? and where.

4. i dont think theres an air filter so i think im gonna do the sink drain pipe thing. good idea?

any other questions or comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated, and i can post pictures of anything you guys need.

thanks!

welcome to buggynews, if yours is a 150 then it does not have a radiator, also check the year, I dont think they made any until 2005.

the spitting and dieing is prbably the pilot jet stopped up, pull the jets and give them a real good cleaning along with the passages.

if the tires turn when the rear is jacked up trhe idle is to high or the clutch is stuck, try lowering the idle

useing a uni and doing the redneck intake is fine, just rejet the carb when you do.

as far as seats go you could check ebay or alot of us dealers can get the seats

Unless you have a rare water cooled 150 then you dont have a radiater. You probly need to clean the carb is your fuel problem

Also, if you're not running an air filter at ALL (just a wide open carb), that could be the cause of your sputtering right there. You're getting a ton of air and not maintaining the correct air/fuel ratio.

Get an air filter/velocity stack on there and change the carburetor main jet to about a 125 and see how it runs.

If it's dying right after revving from idle, you probably need to clean the carburetor like the other guys said. Pay special attention to the removable screws (jets) in the bowl at the bottom of the carb. Make sure you can see through them (but don't run a wire or brush through them to clean - even something that small can scratch them and widen the hole.)

Your 150 should not have a radiator, as it's an air-cooled engine. Make sure the plastic shrouding is all installed and intact around the engine itself.

I've heard of a few rare water cooled 150CC. If you can take a picture on the inlet and wide angle of the area it is in. What model Dazon? I have 4 150cc and 2 125CC and no water cooling here. Not saying that it isn't water cooled just not very common thing on a 150CC.
