They may be built in Alabama, but they are taking tips from the specs from China. There is no way (at least by the picture) the Revo weighs less than the GX150IIR. This is typical.
I'm a big fan of Carter, I just think they should stick with the offroad buggy look, not go towards the UTVs...just an opinion. They have their own market that I think they do well in...

Eric are the pictures of the Revo in the .pdf you posted the 150 or the 300? Specs say that's a chain drive? I wasn't aware there was a rear end like that with a side input that would line up with a 150 sprocket.

When I bought our first buggy I knew that I wouldn't like a cvt tranny. But I have been impressed with how well they work and keep the motor in its' powerband. But I can tell you that two gears are better than one, and five gears are better than two. The versatility with the CF Moto two gear motor can not be questioned. Granted you have to stop to change gears, but they don't make pulleys big enough to span all the ratios of a two speed. And then you look at that Chinese-Yamaha motor with the clutchless five speed. I have ridden in rralands 400 and its' great. You shift on the fly, just lift on the throttle for a second. He can pick and crawl through logs and rocks, and then you can't keep up with him on open trails. He's got to be running 50+ and his buggy is completely stock. I hope that all manufactures will start looking at motors that will help mini-buggies reach their full potential.

i agree on ralands 400. that thing is fast. even with my 400 jetted and pipe gutted, i had a hard time keeping up with him. the 400 5speed is night. i just wish they would have made a softer suspension for them. i really miss mine right now. but, saving for a RZR. but i like the wide, secure footing of a buggy though.

Yep, the first person to put one of those 400 motors in a Joyner frame is going to have a great buggy.
You hit that nail on the head. I looked at a Roketa 150cc quad and it weighs 350 lbs. This new 150 buggy is 100 lbs heavier. Sure the 150 can handle that extra weight but improving the power/weight ratio right at the factory would make a world of difference. Heck, a 250 Roketa quad weighs 350 also. A Yamaha Raptor 700 weighs less than a 250 buggy @ 422 lbs.
I just love the compact size of my Hammerhead. A 400cc 5 speed would make that thing a wonderfully froggy toy. Power to weight ratio is where the focus needs to be.
