The body panels started out looking good. But...... after several hard runs and exposing to the elements the are starting to sag. I would not recommend them. I will replace mine with aluminum sheet or build a fiberglass body from scratch.

Hmmmm. A fiberglass body building thread would be interesting.

What about some of the plastics? I had a buddy pick up some from the local plastic shop and built a roof for his ranger. Heat and bend, already in color that wont chip or scratch.............

The plastic i used would work good if you used a pop rivit every 4". I just didn't want to drill my frame full of holes. Most sand rails use aluminum sheet and the polish it up and it looks great. The fiberglass option is just big talk from a guy who's fiberglass works consist of me patching the holes in my racing kart seat. But i am reading up on the subject.

I would be interested in the coloured plastic sheeting if I could find some around here when the time comes for it.
There has to be a plastic around somewhere that will stand up to the elements.
Pmac I was wondering if you could post a pic of your rack and pinion steering and tell us about it?
I can see that the kart style steering that I have is going to be hard on my arms

The rack & pinion really improves the steering. I purchased it at Dans performance parts It is the 8" rack and really steers great. I will get some photos this weekend.

Why did you pull the ATV engine on this build? Just curious.
