How long have you had it finished?
Have you had a chance to really ride it much and if so how does it perform?

52 hp in a 400# buggy. I have really been going easy on the u-joints and axles just to see how much stress they can take. With the CVT drive system it delivers power smoothly. I have been adding gear numerically. I am up to 4.00:1 now. I really don't have a place close by to really open it up until i get a chance to load it up and take to the family farm. It seems to drive good and the rack & pinion steering is great. If the buget allowed it i would upgrade to the Fox offroad shocks. But they don't so i will be using the atv shocks like everyone else. I have less than $1000 invested including the $189 delivered to the door snowmobile engine. All in all for us budget minded buggiers the Bandit is hard to beat. When everyone gets there buggy built maybe we can join in one of the get togethers.

I'm kicking around the idea of building a Bandit mostly because I already have a lot of the parts lying around.
I like the design overall but I have some reservations about the front suspension and lack of front brakes.
How well does the suspension work off road?

Swing arms have been used on lots of buggies over the years. Unless i was going racing i wouldn't worry over it. Or if i was to worry i would get the dual a-arm Bandit plans.

Hey guys...I know I am jumping in kinda late and definitely a bit uninformed about this buggy...but it looks really cool. A perfect buildable 1 seater alt to my GTR 250.
That being said I searched for Bandit buggy plans and came up with nada. I really like the idea of a dual a arm setup-
could anyone post a link to the site that sells the plans please? I dont wanna chop up the GTR...Id rather throw a sled engine in something like that for sure!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Mike
I bought my Bandit plans off of Ebay, just go to Ebay Motors and type in Buggy Plans, they are the plans from British Columbia. He has one set with single arms and another set with dual a arms.
He goes by the name Theo on Buggy News and has build threads on here.

Thanks for the response...is Fleebay the ONLY place he sells the plans? Haven't used it since I got burned for the 2nd time. Anyway if that is where he does his biz then so be it...I'll have to break down and resign up. Any more info would be appreciated.
Thanks Mark

You're welcome
Not sure if the plans are anywhere else.
