I've been talking with Joe at Desert Toys, very cool guy. I have finally made up my mind to step up from the 250-300 class buggy for something with some power. My first choice was the YAMABUGGY, but Joe said for $400 more I could get the BMS 800. That was smart. But then Joe just showed me a picture of an ODES 1000 for just a just a little more. It looks great, has long travel suspension, and Joe was really impressed by it. He offered to let me come down and drive it and compare it to the the BMS 800. I will be doing that and give my opinion on my choice. But the only thing is that I've never heard of ODES products. Joe says they make a great ATV. Anybody else heard of ODES? Thanks for your input, and thank you Joe!

Do you have pictures, links...anything to bring to show & tell? Maybe if you post some pictures the ODES might be recognized as the same buggy under a different name.

Odd. Odes website doesn't list any buggies but they do show ATVs and Rhino knock-offs--one of them with a 1000cc engine. http://www.chinaodes.com/1000cc-UTV.html
Check out the price listed above the pictures: $3999 USD I'm assuming that's a wholesale price. What's Joe asking?
I'm not familiar enough with the little construction & styling clues to identify it. Looks like a Joyner copy to my eyes. Maybe someone else can ID it now.

Ya....it does look vaguely familiar. Let me do some thinking....maybe I will jar the recesses of my mind and it will come to me.
Oh....wait.....isn't that a Joyner?
All kidding aside. Though it resembles a Joyner almost to the minute detail, I would be hesitant to buy copies. It can look good and it may even run good, however, what about parts and service.
You might say that ...."well, I will just buy Joyner parts" but there again, it is a copy and tolerences might be way out of spec. Perhaps the Joyner parts will not fit.
I would consider a Joyner if I could justify spending that much to my wife!!! But with the way things are going in the economy, that would be shaving things a little too close. I want to be able to pay cash for things now and eliminate my credit. Sooo, if I have to wait to find something decent, I will. It doesn't hurt to shop around, and who knows, maybe this is an OK buggy. There are other options. I guess I just have to take it slowly and make sure I get the right product.[/u]
Sorry, been away for awhile. Yes, I did drive it. It was pretty peppy. But it was cramped and cheaply built. I shyed away. It looks good in pictures, but up close it a no go!
