2 questions 1-The crankcase has a dipstick filler cap. Do I fill to the top of the filler neck (like the manual says) or to the mark on the stick. And will overfill hurt anything?

Most of the manuals I have read mention 80 to 85 weight gear oil. Those that live in extremely hot environments have been using higher weights. But for the majority of us, the standard 80 to 85 weight range should be fine.
Top of filler neck should be fine on these engines... if you do the 1 & 1/4 quarts like they mention.. that brings it to approximately the same area. Non of us have had any oil foaming problems with the top of the neck level that I've heard of.

OK now I'm confused. When someone says "gearbox", I assume they mean "reverse gearbox", and everyone of these gearboxes I've seen on a Chinese ORB has had grease in it (like wheel bearing grease). So if these 150cc ORB's have a place for 80-85w gear oil, I'd like to know where, if so someone correct me.

Steve, I see you must have connections to "Big Oil" since you are recommending adding oil etc. I have recently become aware of your blatent attempts at trying to promote your topics on your site. Why, pretty soon you are going to start posting useful links to other sites. I can't believe the gall of you, I mean actually posting useful information! I am appalled.

On a serious note, the crankcase oil, as far as the yerf manual, says to make sure the oil is in the range on the dipstick, which would indicate not filling to the top. When you overfill, it will belch out more oil then usual out of the valve cover vent.
The Gearcase oil is filled to the top, amazingly small amount of oil needed here.
the reverse gearbox would rarely need lubed unless you drive in the mud all the time (or sand). The gear cluster is only moving when in reverse.

I looked at the Yerf manual. Wasn't really sure where to drain oil on a Blade 150cc. So I assume the big plug that has the spring and filter screen is where you drain the oil.
Also I see from the Yerf manual, the drain and fill hole for the FINAL GEAR drive. So this is where the 80-80w gear oil goes (assuming it's the same on the Blade). OK...I'm figuring it out.

A lot of people do it there... it's a good idea to do both that and the bolt on the lower left side of the engine facing the muffler which is actually the drain plug. Removing the screen helps get any trapped gunk out of there. (metal shavings, etc.) Opening both assures you get all the oil out that you can.
I think you got it.
