my buggy just blew out the breather tube off the top of the valve cover for no reason! I was riding "normal" 3/4 throttle on some property, no major climbs or anything, and pop...my arm got hot, then wet, and I noticed oil shooting at me!!!
The breather has been pushing a LOT of oil recently... I thought maybe too much oil in there, but I just did the oil change a week or so ago, and it took a little less than a quart...
I have a stroker crank in its box, sitting in my shop, and I have been debating for over year now about the benefits, and, if I do go thorugh, what else needs to be done...
If i got stroker, I will most likely go 155, so that I dont have to machine anything, and I can just bolt everything in and go for the most part... BUT... I have the A9 (i think) cam, and a 32mm carb... I heard i may beed a larger head gasket or jug gasket for clearance for the stroker crank...is this true?
My crank is the SHENG-E "Big Power" 5ml 1.5mm crankshaft... i came in a box of parts I purchased from a member, and I really want to install it, but I know nothing about it, or what is required to install it! Anyone have any experience?
As far as the crossfire 150R, you do indeed have a 10g rollers in your buggy... you should have nearly the same performance out of the 12g sliders, you may loose a little top end speed, and gain a little more bottom grunt... a 1500lb (yellow) main spring is a common mod for your CVT, as well as a new clutch, like the shorty clutch kidnme is selling...

John, if you have oil shooting out of that breather you've got some internal engine problems like worn rings etc. lol.
im kinda figuring it to be rings...which is fine, I have a new set of those... but it is just eggin me on to go with the stroker and the 155 kit with my birthday money!!! lol
im doing a comp test in 5 min...i'll let you know!!!

The stroker is where it's at. Longer stroke means a faster spool.
Chuck, I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Longer strokes produce low RPM power. Short strokes are for faster revs. That's a very basic engine building fact. The piston has farther to travel so it won't increase revs. The longer crank throw should do wonders for low end power though.

130 psi is within reason. Was the engine warm and the carb wide open?

You need to do a leak down test, it tells a better tale. It will let you know if you have worn valve guides which could contribute to your oil spitting problem.
A stroked engine is designed for low end power, not top end. It produces more torque. But to build a true stroked engine requires a bit more work then just replacing a crank.

if I go stroker crank, it would be with the 155 jug, the shimmed head gasket probably, new valves and guides, possibly new springs, and if I indeed have the a9 cam, then I will switch to something a little different... A true stroker would be new piston/rings/seals, stronger or just different gaskets, 93+ octane at all times, a new CDI probably... The list can go on and on...
I will def go with the 155 kit if I go stroker...I'll do the leakdown test tomorrow morning... I have the fittings, just need to get a guage on it...
I love the DOOM, and I want it to be really reliable... if it is getting ready to be most unreliable, then I want to jump on it and go bananas!!! i have a couple hundred to toy with, and the buick is waiting on a few parts, so the buggies can play!!!
