Your right. Confused low end with a faster spool. I believe the a12 and sproket help with the mid and the tires probly a bit a top. My point though would be what Mike said. I get alot of torque to the point where I can mod for mid and high range outside the motor. It makes for an all around better performer. If I would put 22in tires and my big sproket on it, you would be hard pressed to find a better crawler buggy wise.
Also we climbed some pretty steep hills at turkey bay. But the ones that are in the video are'nt what I'm talking about. Any buggy or quad would have to be all out on them. But at half throtle I went where others with cvt mods could'nt.
If you like having a 150 and can swallow the cost, intarnals is where it's at. I will say that you may get better value out of a 4 valve head than every thing. I've heard of some smart folks machining the case a bit, and the jug a bit, so not to get close to the oil passage. I just sent it to Tom Syc and chance are he has a case ready for you already.
Your gonna need a min of .025 deck height. I had to put 1 .015 shim in that Tom sells

The stroker is where it's at. Longer stroke means a faster spool.
Chuck, I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Longer strokes produce low RPM power. Short strokes are for faster revs. That's a very basic engine building fact. The piston has farther to travel so it won't increase revs. The longer crank throw should do wonders for low end power though.
I just got an update from the guy who is rebuilding my engine and thought I'd share.
The engine should be ready in a couple of weeks. He's been waiting for parts for some time now and just got them in. He said that right now it is pulling about 16hp at the dyno. I have no idea what size cc he's made it yet. He will have all of the specifications as well as flow bench and dyno results for me when we put the engine back in. We put in a stroker crank, bigger carb, exhaust, and he is doing a lot of internal work. With the help of many people on here (BigE and ChuckOrlando especially) I was able to send him a bunch of upgrade parts along with the blown motor.
The guy who is doing this is family I actually feel very privileged that he is the one doing this. Here's a link to his "about us" section of his website, that'll explain why I'm honored. http://www.parsonsracingengines.com/about%20us
I can't wait to get strapped in behind the wheel of this thing!!!! That reminds me..... gotta save up for tires, the one's I have are dryrotted.

Please update soon with the specs, 16hp out of a 150 gy6 is pretty good...
I can't wait to do mine and my biggest concern is finding a shop to do the boring and port and polish correctly and in a short time. I don't want to wait 2 or 3 weeks to get the machine work done...
