Hey guys, I'm still fighting the GS moon, but I have located a twister hammerhead 250 in really good shape, and am thinking about giving it a new home. What is the general opinion on these things? Does it use the CN engine? I have to admit, I'm really tired of trying to locate parts for the linhai 257 in the GS moon!
I own one and I really like it. It has the CFMOTO 250 in it, like the Joyners have. The front suspension isn't the greatest, but it is probably the narrowest 250 which is nice for tight trail riding. I've had mine for a year and have put it through the paces with no major issues. Lots of performance parts available, easy to find OE parts. It climbs like a mofo in lo gear.

This one certainly looks like it would be easier to work on. I noticed in the photos that the owner sent me that there is one central rear brake disk for both rear wheels. Is this a locked differential? I guess it would have to be if it has a single disk on the rear.
It is a locked differential, like posi-traction, both rears turn at the same time. There are also hydraulic brakes on the front. This is pretty common for most 150 or 250 buggies.

I thought that was the situation. My GS moon is an open diff. It turns much easier and doesn't eat the lawn, but I think it's more of a dirt road buggy than a trail buggy. Are the speeds consistant with other 250s? I'm getting 58mph in the moon according to GPS.
I just bought a new 08 hammerhead 250ss and its great. I am just coming up to the end of my breakin period and I am getting about 43- 45 mph on the straight flat gravel and its still bone stock. the buggy itself seems to hold up pretty well, i have had a roll over and a high speed crash into a tree when my front wheel cought a stump and stoped me dead in my tracks, that cost me about 90 bucks for a strut, but all in all not that exspensive to fix once you do get into a bit of hot water.
