I have recently become extremely interested in mini-buggies and I have my mind pretty much 100% set on building one.
I plan on picking up a welder within the net few weeks so I can start messing with that so I can et to the frame. I also have access to mills and lathes. But even though I have access to those .things I still want to do as little fab work as possible.
Right now I'm looking for a quad that I can use the front suspension, and possibly engine off of. I'm looking for a 250 of some sort. For the rear I'm completely lost. Solid axle seems like it would be the easiest, but it could potentially have a lot of issues While IFS seems like it would be more difficult due to the fact that it would need to be fabbed up.
I also get hookups from a local salvage yard, so I should be able to get steering, and other small bits and pieces from there.

Well if you look around at other buggy Designs it isn't to hard to make your buggy as you go along. You just need to know what you want in a buggy and need to get all the main parts before you start your build. And possibly draw up a few pictures to get an idea of what your building. EBay has some good buggy plans as well.
The front end you can just use off a sport ATV. Like a 300ex or something like that.
Solid axle is easier than IRS and you should have less problems as well.
