Hammerhead has been talking about the possibility of a 400 in the 250ss frame by Christmas...they check the forum from time to time, what would be the consensus from everyone?

Could help make the final decision.

Without a question. All the CC's you can within that frame. And maybe some shocks and travel that can put up with the stresses of that added power! But hey... I'll take the power either way.

I think it would be the ultimate buggy. Power, size, and possible retain the hi/low configuration.

I think if they want to do it up it should have bigger tires with more aggressive tread too. Be near perfect rounding the horsepower up.

Yes! Get the power, it's what these buggies need! They also need some better suspension, too, haha.

To quote the famous philosopher, Tim Allen:

MORE POWER!!!!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

And just to clarify - yes I would buy one with a 400cc engine if reasonably priced.

How did you find out about the possibility of a 400? There are inquiring minds here who would love to know all you know about this!

The info is from the marketing side of the Co.
Long story short - there were no Hammerhead dealers in SW Idaho so I ended up the area Factory Demo. Rep. and set up a Boise Dealer to get a couple of units and have a authorized factory warranty center. The dealer sold several units the first week (last week) and is re-ordering more units today. They have a wild idea for making one a snow machine that we are keeping under wraps until the SW Snow show the 21st but I hope to have some pictures of that for the forum - wild idea.
We have been hoping for a 500 and that is how the subject came up that there may be a 400 by end of year if there is enouph positive feedback to warrant it.

Only thing that may be holding these companies up from building over 250cc is the rumor Honda bailed on buggies because of the threat of law suites with the higher power...hopefully that is not going to scare China off from building just a little bit more horsepower. I don't think we need faster machines - we need more torque which is what the cc's with the same gearing should give us.

Thank you for a little inside information. I believe we will be seeing more of the bigger bore machines, we just have to be patient.

I think it's stupid how Honda got into lawsuits and what not. I don't see why 4 wheelers can have crazy power and they are even more dangerous...oh well...

I would probalby buy one if the price wasn't too crazy. under 4k would be nice.

I'd like to see one with the hi/lo, independant rear and leave off the turn signals, speakers and other un-needed stuff to keep the cost down. I'd just be happy if they sold a 'stripped down' 250 but kept the hi/lo and indep rear :( to get the cost down a little.

Would like more power too, but would prefer to have a geared transmiision like the Xatv. It would be great to if we could lock up the differential if it was a driveshaft design.

Bigger bore = bigger torque = bigger fun = bigger smiles that have to be surgicaly removed.
Ditch the belt drive though.
