Yes justwonderinginky; this iz one of my issues, Im telling him I will come down to look at / drive it & will at that point (if iz as advertized) will hand him cash. the original ad states this iz not eligable for ebay buyer Ins. so I will not B sending any $ site unseen.
beyond that has anyone had any first hand experience with the Mazzone line ???

I always tell these tell sellers that I will come and look and then go get the cash if it is a deal, I would never bring 2k in cash to someone's house.

Now I may have the cash on me as you cant pull 2k out of an ATM, but you could do the deal in a mall parking lot where there is a bank.

But 2,000? that seems like a steal.

Mazzone seems like they are out of biz, www.sandcars.com apparently is their website but it is not working.

2 grand is a great price, but definitely not out of whack with current prices on these VW-style sandrails. I know it has a corvair engine, but it's essentially a VW style sandrail or beam car. I would check it out and jump on it if it works. You can upgrade those cars more ways than you can imagine. I'm looking for a Berrien Warrior style buggy myself, still small enough for trails and easy to convert into a trail buggy, but all the benefits and power of a sandrail.

Thank you guys for the imput,
the Co. apparently has gone T.U.
Being a Cali Co. Firebird do u suppose they sold these with titles originally ?
Im asking him to send me photo copy of titles (the trailer would have to have one) to verify not stolen etc & that I would meet him or his rep late tommorrow afternoon, it'd take me most of a days drive to get there. My intent would be to potentially double my investment (after playing with it for the summer ;)
If this deal iz not a scam & this guy iz for real & shows me sum verifiable serial nos. / title(s) I may B making this trip. This country boy iz fully capable & not afraid of a public in person meeting to do this deal, Id B takin one of my best deterents (Mr 44 Mag.) and got a (large framed) good buddy that would help with the driving (and or details) :)

The price seems to be too low for a car of that condition. It looks to have a-arms instead of the beams, not positive. A few month back my friend bought a 1600, for $1300. We quickly found out that you need alot of space to run these type buggies.
Good luck here's the buggy.

needing a carb rebuild & starter last month for $2200
corvair mtr not near as nice as this one
maybe its legit but they go higher here

Well at thiz point I have not gottin a reply back on the terms I explained to him I would need for this deal. sumpin's smelling Fishy...

Guys I dont understand Ebays methods I quess, Ive only done small $ purchases but have always seen a Buyer protection available clause in the listings Ive purchased from, are second offers always "Not" covered ?? What gives as to why they (ebay) would provide buyer protection on sum purchases & not others

I know if you pay via the paypal function you have a little recourse if this transaction goes sideways... Alex

Using your credit card on PayPal has better protection than having an account withdraw. If the item is not as advertised or nonexistent, the credit card company will protect your purchase.

Yes; I quess my MC has its own protection
FYI I did not sent any $, I probably shouldnt (quite yet) jump to this conclusion, but he had been very promt to respond to my questions etc, until I laid out My set of ground rules-----But Dude (I do beleive) wuz fixin to shank me !!! A wk + ago I was one of the early bidders & knew I was low balling this and never really paid any attention to the bidding. Its my hunch he got it sold & wished to score a couple grand extra b4 he disappeared, he had told me he was currentl out of country, he never really answered my questions just kept repeating how he didnt trust that I would have funds for this deal, he'd say "just forward me the payment thru ebay, and he would fly back to finalize the deal" -- once I explained to him how laughable his terms were & spelled out my terms, I havent heard back since. Im rather Ticked Off over this, I will however hold judgement 4 the time being But if this iz as I suspect - a scam - Is there a method thru ebay to publicize his unscrupulus tactics so no one else gets taken by this Wretched Cat (punk, theif, crack head, or what ever you'd label him) ??

unfortunately all you can do is report it to ebay. they can remove him if they find it to be a scam. These things happen alot on ebay.

I've seen the same on my local Craig's List. The guys make up a story about being separated from the vehicle but a buddy or broker will handle it. I tell them I have friend in law enforcement that lives in the area that can bring cash and pick it up for me - Then I no longer get any responses to my emails...

What a shame! The guy is trying to hustle you. Typically on ebay car purchases the seller will demand a $500 down payment within 48 hours or so and the rest when you pick up the car from what I've seen. I would say you sound paranoid, TF, but just yesterday morning I watched a Forensic Files episode on TruTV where some guy killed a couple trying to sell him a truck and made up his own bill of sale...turns out he was some kind of psychopath.
