Ok here is my list so far on Arctic Cat parts & other companies that will cross over to the SS. Some of these MIGHT work on other models & brands. The castings look better on some of these. Are they better or stronger I can't tell you that, I will say the rear knuckles are WAY lighter due to being made out of Aluminum & look stronger. These are a huge unsprung weight savings, I have ran them hard & they work great! These are off their 700 UTV so I don't see a problem with them.
I know this list might upset some dealers on this site but it also gives an alternative for them to get their supply faster & within the states. Also Arctic Cat uses these parts across a huge amount of their ATV's , so a 400 could use the same part as a 700. These are the one's I have found but others might work just as well.
If you ask me to submit a part please make sure they work or if some modification is needed to work.

Thanks

1) Right front Knuckle= Arctic Cat 2003 ATV 500
Part # 0505-062

2) Left front Knuckle= Arctic Cat 2003 ATV 500

ARP's 8mm Rod Bolt set #673036000646 an exact match, width, shoulder thickness & length !!! although the bolt head is shaped slightly different. The bolt head fits very well. !!!
These bolts are probably 4x the strength of the stock bolts !!!

Thanks TF

33) Heavy duty Off Road mirrors:

34) Replacement starter:
Well if any of you guys want a high torque starter for carbed 650 or carbed 800,i have 4 left.PM me,i take Pay-pal.It will be 4-5 weeks before i have more.Im going to take care of all Buggy News people first.Ghost

35)Fan replacement upgrade: Hayden Rapid-Cool - Electric Fan Kit
Part # 3680
blknight42:
Thought I would throw this in.... electric fan install. My original fan blade disenigrated in the Az sun... since the cheapest I could find the blade for was $18.00 plus shipping, I bought this 12" unit off E-bay for $22.00 shipped. I just removed old fan motor..cut center supports with a grinder and drilled 4 holes to bolt to old support. Been on about a year now with no issues and seems to work better than original- Pat

36)
The brake light switch from the early VW bugs will fit the original joyner master (VW does use a spade rather than ring- electric connecter) I would assume this also means it would interchange with the 250. Thanks blknight42:

37) Rear Knuckles Bushings:
This may have been posted before, but I didn't find it. Just wanted to post these as they are for Arctic Cat but thanks to the tip in this forum that the knuckles are the same, I ordered UHMW bushings for the 650SS and they fit perfectly.
Got them here:
rtrcustomfab.webs.com/apps/webstore/products/show/5182779
He says he'll make control arm bushings etc if measurements are provided.
Here is post: uhmw-bushings-for-650ss-rear-knuckles-t46831.html
Thanks BADsDAD

Will the disc base work on the rear of SS or just front?

Yes Jbquadrider ur awsum !!! So the disk base swaped out fine, thatz very helpfull, my hub to shaft has been staying torqued down tite & havent had issue, but I sure didnt like what I saw the first time I had this apart (it had been run loose previously).

Iz worth a sticky, yes mods ?? as this a great place to gather even more alternatives to OEM (as there currently is almost no OEM parts available)

Great work Jb

Thanks Guys
Yes, the disk base will work on front or rear. The only part I have not found (other than the engine & Trans) is the axles.

Hey moderators, how about a post sticky, that we can set up for all the different size buggies, where we can add parts replacements as we find them, and be able to go back and find the info with out an exhaustive search each time. Thanks Van

so the artic cat calipers should work right? it would be nice to be able to go buy brake pads locally. I imagine the calipers will be better too.

You know, I don't see why they would not. If you do find they work let me know & I'll add to the list.

Not so far, I bought one thinking it might work & no luck. Had to sell it at a big loss, the axles hold their value. It seems that the only ones that have a female spline that goes into our trans is the front axles on the Arctic Cat, these are a smaller & shorter axle.
