I just wanted to let everyone know that after 1000 miles this buggy is still running strong. It is built tough.( flipped 2 times so far) The only problem I have had is the fuel petcock and the cheap tires. Hard to believe 1000 miles , maybe the mileage thing is wrong. Any body around texarkana texas with a buggy yet?

Tough little buggy. The original speedo works off and on, it quit around 548 +. I added a digital unit that i had laying around . it has climbed to over 500 not sure how correct it is though. It seems to have its problems to. Total would be over 1000 but not on the original speedo. Thats why in your mileage post I put the 548 and your guess is as good as mine. I was in texarkana for a few years also.

Man, hope I get that reliability out of mine. (Minus the rollovers of course )

I can attest that these are built strong. My family beat on one this last weekend and it did great. Turns on a dime, fairly comfy.

Cons: Tires wear wayyyyyy too fast.
needs different gearing, too fast top end I think
spedo broken at 300 ish miles

We have 2 Carbides and we love them. My dad drives his all the time. Me personally I like my Helix. I don't know why but I just prefer it. Both the Carbides have been flipped and they still run great. 541miles on one and 164 on the other. Yeah the tires are cheap the ones on my dad's is wearing FAST.

any of you guys change your engine sprocket?mine has a 16t sprocket but i cant fine a smaller one in the size 530 chain! thats too much drag for this motor,a 428 would be plenty or 520.

That's why most people change out the axle sprocket instead of the engine sprocket. If you have internal reverse, you should check out the Yerf sprocket spline count since they are 13t.

These are tough buggies. My buddy beats the crap outta his... He rolled his last Fri. night. Flipped it back up, waited (laughed our asssses off) for a good 10 min for oil to settle. checked for damages found none,and kept on goin. He is a mechanic by trade and like never maintains his other than change the oil and maybe lube the chain. (I'm always busting his chops about this) Never did a belt yet either and he's got over a grand on his too. I think I worry too much over mine. lol. I like the top end personally, and it'll climb quite well just as it is... I've taken it several times up hills I never thought it would pull. A day doesn't go by when we're riding that the little bug doesn't impress me for what it is.

Still beating the heck out of the carbide. Since the upgrades were made a long while back, I have just got in it and went. Had a blast playing in the snow last week. I use it to haul firewood to the house all the time. Haven't replaced the belt yet. Did notice today that the rear tire is starting to separate from the side wall. The rears are factory I replaced the front with front max a long time ago and they are holding up great. When I replace the rear I will go a couple inches taller and change the axle sprocket. Fixing to be moving up around Tulsa OK. Hope there are more riding spots than here. Oh ya, had to replace the bottom in both seats much better now (doesn't look as good but works). The plywood rotted out. This buggy starts right up and is not using a lick of oil yet. I can not believe how well this thing is holding up. I have abused it in every way. I have pulled loads of fire wood that I really should not have pulled (little belt burn if you know what I mean). If you go into my garage you will likely see one of my dogs laying in the drivers seat of the buggy. (yes they love it too) I have had more fun on this than any of my atvs. I really want a 250cc or 300cc though. Or maybe I should just build another baja vw bug. Has been a while since I posted here just wanted to let you all know that I am still around.

Another satisfied "welfare burger" owner. lol Glad it's holding up so well. My buddy just did a batt. in his after 2yrs. Ours are all running strong... no probs. Ok speedos are crap but if that's the only tradeoff.... You oughtta make it a single seater... SOO much more comfy. Then get another one for the wife/kids.

Ya, starting to get play in the plastic steering bushing (the rubber boots are gone.) The rear hub splines are getting wore out (play in the rear wheels now no matter how tight they are). But this is a whole lot less money than a 4 wheeler.Will replace parts when I think I have gotten all the life out of it.

Here is a picture of the dog loven on the cart and the wood I haul all the time. If I lived close enough to a lake that I could use the cart to haul the kayaks to the water I'd be in heaven!

Been out getting muddy, came in to get daughter. will see if I can finish off rear tire! Always impressed on what this thing will go through.
