If BigE does not find a rectifier for you. I have blank connectors to adapt a CN250 rectifier to the SYM harness. We will need to trace your wiring to make the correct patches.

Thanks BIGE and PGH. Great news you can get the right part. I called a friend with elec. expertise and he happens to have a box of regulator rectifiers left over from various projects. After I check the voltage output of my stator (and it's functionality) we'll see if he can help me out. I've found and downloaded the wiring diagram as well as service manuals (I love this forum). If my poor man's fix doesn't get it done I'm gonna come begging.
Hey Guys, new to the site, but definitely enjoy my carter bros kart! Sorry to hear the news. I was hoping I could get some guidance from you all. I called them for tech support when I heard of the fire. I need some trouble shooting to get the kart back running again. I am no where near a dealer/repair location. Please help!
How leary would you be about buying an Interceptor 250? There is one for sale near me for $2200 obo. It looks to be in good shape and the seller claims low hours. Engine parts don't seem to be a problem. The front end sounds like the worst part but what about the rest of the machine? Brakes, bearings, tie rods, and other normal wear items? Do any of those parts interchange?

I wouldn't go over $1500 for 250 in very good shape if I was a DIY-er type who can do Wreck's strut mod. The brake pads are the same as a hammerhead, don't know about the calipers. We thought we had a line on parts directly from the factory, but they pulled out at the last minute. I am convinced it is an intellectual property issue.
Someone is preventing their parts from being sold by anyone else as they still hope to recover from this. They have the right to do that. Someone asked why the message about Carter Brothers when we didn't do the same for Joyner. Carter Brothers is still technically in business. When Joyner shut it's doors there already was a company stepping up to buy it, so there's a big difference there. Carter is in complete limbo,we don't know for how long or if they will be back. We don't know if they DO comeback what kind of support system will exist for the older buggies.
