So to be specific are we talking June 28,29 &30 2013 ? St.Joes is the best centrally located for most and the camping, showers, and restrooms are first class for camping. Karl I had heard the same thing but I also heard tha" you are tired of doing burgers and with the smaller turnout last year you were instead going to do Steaks with salad, baked and a vegie. I think it's a great idea I will volunteer the drag races again, we will need volunteers for the scramble, hill climb and kids events.
Maybe admin can send the anouncement once the date is written in stone to all members if possible. Then start a list of who is planning to attend with number of people.

Just one more note. Maybe some of the area people can stop at St Joes and find out the status as to what changes are done and if any other changes will be taking place before or at time of Bash.

I think Papa Rich went there this weekend, he might have some insight on what they are doing.

I'm good with the place and and dates. I will try to contact St. Joes this week and see what plans they may have in June for any riding blockage on the property.

AS it looks right now they are covering the sandy areas on the east side of the park with shot rock ( big rock 4 to 5" diameter). That being to the right side coming out of the staging area. The west side is untouched at this time. I will try to find out more on future changes. Sorry I didn't do it this past weekend but was having too much fun.
They are performing lead remediation at the site. It is being done in 4-stages. It is anticipated that the work will continue through late 2013. They don't know the exact timing of each phase. Based on what they've gotten completed to date I would expect that in the July 2013 time-frame they'll be in the late Phase 2 or perhaps early Phase 3 stage. At this time I would expect that they will make accommodations for access to/from the campground areas when they are in Phase 3.
Quote:
Sections of the ORV riding area will be temporarily closed while lead remediation activities are being conducted. The remediation activities will be conducted in phases. These restricted work zones have been implemented to ensure rider safety while heavy equipment is in operation. Maps showing the most current restricted work zones are posted in the ORV Staging Area, on hand-outs provided when obtaining a riding permit, and online. These closures may be expected through late 2013. Be sure to frequently check the map for current work zone closures. Below is an overview map of St. Joe State Park, as well as a map showing the current remediation phase.
