That's a nice garage/workshop  . Wish I had some land to build a garage. I built my buggy on my driveway, setting up, and cleaning up everynight :( , I'm sure I lost a month in that aspect. It would have been so nice =P~ to leave my fecal matter right where it was and pick up where I left off. Okay I'm done whining , congrats.

Nice shop, but may I make a suggestion. Epoxy paint that floor before you get any oil on it. I did that to mine and it sure makes clean up so much easier and that stuff is tough. Gas, brake fluid or thinner doesn't seem to effect it.

Now get busy on that buggy build.

thanks guys. i'm looking forward to hopefully having it done this spring for riding. i'll use this as my build thread and post pics so if any of you have suggestions i will be happy to listen. i have built "karts" in the past but nothing at this level so i will be learning as i go.

i guess i will start at the top. as far as i know the frame is from a 2009 drakart tornado single seater. i bought it with front A-arms, seat, steering rack & all the body panels. the long travel A-arms were used as a flat track racer and had VW ball joints in them so they are sitting to the side & most of the body panels are dinged up pretty good. i am using honda TRX250R A-arms & spindles. i started with 250X arms but the 250R arms are about 2" longer and that helps me with my shock mounting. the steering rack i got with the frame is a nice one. it's the heavy-duty one they use on the VW set-ups. the seat is nothing fancy. just the regular plastic summit racing style seat. so far, i have the front suspension on except for the shocks. i ran out of radius tabs doing the A-arms and need to order more. i will include pics as i get things done.
onward and upward... :)

I did the epoxy on my garage floor. Pretty simple. The prep work is the most time-consuming. Got to make sure that sucka is clean. I washed and rinsed several times. THen you just mix the two parts, roll it on, and then throw the specs by hand. Easy and looks great.

in the pic of the side view you will see the min-fridge. i have a stereo but it's up higher on the shelf with the speakers. as afar as the couch....haven't got that far yet.

couple pics of the front arms mounted. no steering linkage yet, that's next.
the $40 harbor freight tubing notcher does a pretty good job once you put a shim in behind the front plate to line things up.
right now it's sitting at just under 53" hub-to-hub up front. the pic has the wheels with the large offset (3") to the outside. i can always flip the wheels if i need to.

Mornings like today when I have to go scrape the ice off my windows makes me totally envious of your man cave  . Enough whining. I will be watching this new build of yours come to life. :D

Good to hear some feedback on the hf notcher. I guess that's the jig only for 40? Have you tried their holesaws? I've tried the cheap ones with no luck, thought about trying the more expensive ones but was afraid to take the jump!

Build is looking good!

i wouldn't use the HF hole saws. i went to home depot and bought a Milwaukee bi-metal hole saw for $8.00. the whole set at HF was $14 but i have not read good reviews on them holding up.
