In the little bit of time I've been a member here I have quickly picked up on the general need of replacement gas cap and just how inconvenient it can be to loose a gas cap for your buggy/kart. Not only is it a inconvenience but it's also a huge safety issue.

In the event that a gas cap gets lost or broken out in the field this is a quick TEMPORARY fix that will suffice until a proper replacement cap can be obtained. It should be noted that this is NOT intended as a permanent solution/replacement for a properly fitting cap that is designed for use with gas powered motors since not all of the materials used in the make of these "emergency replacement caps" is engineered for use of fuel products and may possibly damage a motor if used for any length of time.

You will obviously have to purchase the correct size but these can be picked up at any local hardware store for a very reasonable price. They're simple to use and easily located. They come in varying sizes so be sure to purchase the correct size for each individual application.

Here is a link that I googled.
It should be pretty self explanatory. I would post the actual pic but I'm not sure how just yet.

Hope this helps

Great idea. The only problem I would have with that that Duct tape won't work on wet surfaces should it be pouring down rain not to mention that the adhesive is sure to enter the motor once the gas dissolves it.....though still a fairly good option in a pinch.

Ask me how I know...

That plug may not work ... it is not vented.

yep i agree if tank is not vented that might cause a vacuum lock.
i been lucky i guess i have found several at gas pumps over the years, most usually someone done run over them.
i had a fuel cap stolen once on step tank on big truck severals years back. a couple cowboys running to fast upset half of a double wide home in some sharp turns, had both lanes blocked and traffic backed up for miles
walked up to see if i could help. truck light weigh 10 ton had winch and plenty chains.20 miles out and just wanted to get home walk back to truck step up on tank notice cap was gone, it was there when i got out.
poop like that makes you want to not help anyone.

safety chain! Cap may come loose but won't be lost.
