hey this may sound like a stupid question, but does anyone know how much power the stock joyner 2012 tranny can take? i have an old Transform race transmission lying around from my old VW race bug so i can swap if i need, but i would rather not. just makes my life easier in the long run

Talk to Jaxn, his 1100 is turbo'ed. I think the biggest problem he has had is with the CV joints. But he is the guy you need to talk to.

If I do the swap I was thinking about, I will change the transmission, but for now I'm just going to turbo it, I was considering dropping a H1 Busa V8 in it mated to my vw race transmission,

AK,

Am I the only one lost? To throw a VW trans in the mix, you are looking at redoing the CV system, right off of the bat. That is something that I have done. Also, why would you want to go to the trouble of going to a VW tranny swap then not go with a VW engine? You could go with a 3-rib or 5 rib VW trans, then build up a nice little 2110 with a 110 cam and I guarantee you that there would not be a hill that you couldn't climb. Plus if you built it right, the engine would far out last the buggy, and it wouldn't cost that much.

Just added 2007 Joyner 250 SV let the fun begin.

I don't think that _____ is coming back here after the other thread was started.

I do agree with the VW part. Even though I know next to nothing about the VW stuff, I know everyone loves them and they are cheap as hell to build.

I don't think a VW trans will handle 550hp that Ally was wanting to come up with.

But yes I think your right masteryota I doubt Ally will be back. She/he took offense when we didn't embrase being scammed with all the eye candy.

Papa Rich,

You are right a VW trans no mater what flavor can't handle 550 HP, unless you are very gentle. For those kind of numbers, people generally go with a Mendola unit.
