Air = horse power..... I was thinking, if I put a (y) on the intake of my carburetor and connected a uni on each end of the (y) I'd get a lot more air in thru my motor. Giving me more horses. Instead of trying to make some kind of fan to blow air into the carb...... is this clever or not. I like humor so I don't get in salted easily.
Um, how does putting a "y" on the intake get you more air into the carb? the size of the carb does not change, so you are not getting more air in the carb.

you could put dual 5" redneck straight stacks up the back of your buggy and not get any more air than you do now. the carb opening is what it is and will only draw so much air. you do have the option of a bigger carb though.

think "hood scoop" I've thought a lot about putting a duct system just below the ducktail on my roof (kind of like those seen on the roofs of some of the LMPs) and feeding it down to the air filter area. always sort of worry i have that sitting in a dead zone because of the fuel tank above it and all the blockage ahead of it.

Gotcha... that sounds like it may work xbird .brought this up to see if we put all our heads together and thoughts maybe will come up with a way to put more air thru our motor by physics not blowers fans etc. Everyone is always wanting more power without paying for it or the simplest way.

I don't think you will be traveling fast enough to get any benefit from a ram air unit. Increase the surface area of your filter to reduce intake restriction.

air & fuel has to mixed properly for peak performance so any kind of forced air would result in a need for different jetting. good luck figuring that out.

I guess the air will have to be forced in by fan, blower, like a turbo. There's no short cut . Its against Murphys law.... its like trying to make a generator to generate itself over and over without fuel if I'm explaining myself. Another thought that crossed my mind years ago. Murphy keeps reminding me NO!!!!!
