It's a good thing we're taking this all so seriously.

Mak, you know everytime theres a post it goes to the top.
Yes I'm serious ,I'm not mod material. Pete has been doing this by himself for awhile and doing a great job. We do need more mods to ease the burden. If there is any one who wants and can be a mod that would be great!

It takes a certain type of person to be a mod, some have it, most don't.

Is there a burden? I guess we should ask Pete how time consuming this is and if he needs help. If not, it works well as is.

What we really need around here is some traffic. :D

I have two hours each day on a bus due to my work commutes (yesterday was close to three) plus I have connectivity to the forum from almost everywhere via my phone. This allows me to read pretty much everything new on the forum and pop in throughout the day or evening. I am also involved in VW, camping and other buggy groups, but BN takes the most free time.

Other than word of mouth, search engine hits or shared Internet links, I am not aware of any advertising that draws members toward this forum. Perhaps the best part of not having large sponsors (other than revenue supporting ads) is that information about products and services is candid. I participate in some sponsored forums where any negativity about advertisers results in removed threads and members, so product advice has to be taken with a grain of salt.

I am glad that this forum has remained family friendly and typically is respectful of other members. I know I would not donate my time here if I was ashamed of the content or conduct of my peers. Although I do not neglect the attention required of this forum, it would be helpful to have someone keep spammers blocked or help new members post in the correct sections. The drama that some members invoked years ago is history, so there is not a current need for more than two moderators.

I wasn't critiquing you, I was really curious if it actually took more than one person.

I post a lot on reddit and a number of other groups, and get into conversations locally. I try to link everyone here, and a few have followed. It's hard to find a lot of people who are really enthusiastic about this stuff. Most people don't know they're a thing. One of my neighbors never though much about them (that I know of) until I brought home my four-seater...he's in New Mexico right now trying to buy one.

Sorry, it's taking me a while to read everything. There's quite a bunch of forums that I manually check every other day because I'm not getting any notifications for it.

PGH or Pete right? Can you send me a PM with some suggestions. I'm open to see what I can do.
This forum is running on a different forum so i'm not too familiar.

Lee

I feel like I got a little spanking for being mischievous :beathorse :beathorse I do like Pete's thinking though. One more, maybe two new Mods would help out a lot. The drama kings of past have been dethroned for the time being and the site has gotten back to what it once was, helping each other and newbies on practically almost anything. We have a new power sports shop in town and I stopped by there today and let him know that if he needed any assistance with anything to get on Buggynews. We will help him out in more ways than he could ever know.

Hey there.

I'm going to close this thread and open an official Mod request thread in the announcement section. If you're seriously interested. Please let me know and I'll get Pete to give you all a once over. We're not looking for 5 or 10 mods. Just maybe another 1 or 2 to work under Pete and help maintain and clean the place up. As well as watch over when someone goes on vacation.

Good luck :)

is the buggynews group on Facebook a direct connect with this forum? Its low movement there and i was wondering if it just happened to share the name or if it was someone from here that ran that group.
