If you want a performance exhaust you can get one from the hammerhead offroad website. This will require you to get a new main jet and a UNI air filter.

when you say "coming apart" is it to the point of leaking or is the casing just shredding?
if it's just shredding a little i wouldn't worry to much. once it starts leaking then you can make a choice of what exhaust to get. the HH performance muffler will be louder (if that is a concern) and a bit pricey (about 275-300 bucks) the exhaust kit will come with a couple jets and a uni-filter.
you can start a thread to see if someone has their stock exhaust left over from an exhaust change if you just want to stay stock and save a few bucks.

The HammerHead Performance exhaust kit is made for the 250 SS and NOT the 250 GT. If you want to install it on a 250 GT you will need to cut the pipe and weld everything back together to make it fit.

When the flexible section of exhaust on my 250 went belly up I cut it out and welded in a section of pipe. The thread for it is

Take the pipe off and take it to a muffler shop that bends their own pipe and see if they can fabricate you a new one.

i think that advice is the best for you at this point. they can-reuse your flange where it bolts to the head and leave straight pipe where the muffler slips on. i have 2007 hh250ss and have a muffler from a honda civic on it.....works great for $30
