 Post subject: carb idle jet

Have carb all apart...dirtiest I have seen in 20yrs of messing with engines. Should the idle jet next to the main jet have a hole all the way through? I am usinga drill bit even and can not get all the way through...

Yes, you need to see light through all jets. If the carb is that gummed up you may be better off just replacing it instead of chasing plugged ports and jets.
