I have a yerfdog rover scout it has the 150cc howhit engine in it. When i try to start it it will turn over but it does`t turn over good. It gets to a spot and struggles to turn over. It acts like the starter clutch is not engaging the starter gear. I replaced the starter clutch and the starter and oil pump and it is still doing the same thing. It will turn over and i am getting good spark and only fire a few times but now it won`t start. Could there be a bearing inside that is bad. I have also set the valves any help would be appreciated. It would start before I changed out the starter clutch.

Pull the CVT cover and the spark plug and turn it over by hand, if it feels free then as Pud says I would look at the starter.

I already put a new starter on it and it still does the same thing. I thought it could be the battery but I hooked up jumper cables to it and it didn`t make any difference . It just acts like it doesn`t have enough rear end to start it. The starter cable does get hot when I crank it alot

Drop a little oil into he spark plug hole and do another reading. If compression goes up, you have worn rings. If compression is the same, it is a valve problem.
