Hi JB and PGH. What would you think of moving the YXZ racing guy as a sub title in our format.Ghost

Shane has his own thread running and really does not need his own sub-topic. If we get some other YXZ racers posting, I can create a Racing sub-topic but we already have racing and events in another part of the forum. It is hard for some forum members to weave through multiple layers - We do not want create duplicated silos of information just because one member races a RZR and another one races a YXZ and another races a WildCat.

If Steve does not want Will's modifications in the same thread, I can split out the posts so each one has their own timeline under the same topic header...

I'll go with whatever you feel works best And I don't mind Ghost's posts here unless he wants to move it.

Thanks Pete

No it's in that cubby whole & should not get that hot. If it does I can stuff some insulation from the hood side there is a gap in there.

Hi JD,my shop manual finally showed up.This is the first machine that i have worked on were the transmission has its own oil pump. Now that is pretty exotic. Some guys are putting cooler for just the transmission.Trying to figure out stock machine height, after putting on winch, extra battery, spare tire and rack. The YXZ is squatting a little.Cannot find in shop manual. From posts i have read on Fox shocks, their saying 15" front,131/2" rear. Not sure that is correct either.Ghost

Are you sure you are not going for that belly scraper look?

Everything I find specifies 12.9" clearance with 27" tall tires. Front shock travel is 16.2" and rear is 17". I did not see a measurement on amount of sag you should set.

I know LT kits are already popular from HCR and Fireball Racing...

Hi PGH,according to Fox the Yxz front should be 11/2" higher than the rear.Ghost

The limited specifications I pulled were scattered on the Yamaha website. Fox and King both supply long travel shocks for the YXZ, so be careful when looking at their measurements - Are they quoting stock or modified suspensions? Maybe the numbers you have are the proper shock lengths when sitting? Does 1.2" of droop on the front and 3.5" on the rear sound reasonable?

Ghost if you want to raise the height just up the preload on the shocks & yes I've been watching that trans cooler posts might do that in the future. Just added some new structure to the roll cage.

You guys are going town on these things. Love the control panel JB. I am wanting to do something about a Garmin style tracking system eventually.
