So are we going to see that in person on that Indiana ride?

Thanks all. I'd been looking at these for awhile, too. Settled on it due to price mostly, and width. Didn't want anything over 60" wide. Was looking at RZRs, but was concerned with getting a used one. Not many around here. Sat in a Wolverine and the Yamaha dealer kinda steered me away from it. He said the powerplant is underwhelming (single cylinder 700).

So negotiated a decent price with the dealer, had them swap my Grim Reapers over from the Prowler (which I hope is sold this weekend), and here we are.

Had one run in it last weekend. Like the power, but keep in mind I'm comparing that to my Prowler ute which is a 700 I think rated around 45hp. So it's a completely different animal.

The good:

- really like the looks/styling of it. I think they're really sharp. The digital dash is nice.
- comes with a winch installed and a hard top
- has a nice ride. Shocks are CFMoto, but they have multiple adjustments
- the price, obviously
- the fit/finish. Was expecting some narly chinese welds but haven't seen any
- SuperATV makes some nice accessories for them already. There's a guy in Russia that makes doors for them shipped to you, with matching body decals for around $600. Supposedly these doors are much nicer and lighter than Octane Ridge.
- the headlights are awesome. No real need for more LED lighting up front
- steering wheel is key-lockable (maybe the RZRs are, too. I don't know)
- has separate parking brake. I mention this because the Prowler's "Park" setting is the parking brake. I parked on a steep incline once and could barely get it in gear.
- driver's side glove box. Very handy.

The bad:

- the side mirrors which they boast are an included accessory are crap. Like a funhouse mirror.
- some of the paint on the frame was not great. Particularly in the weld areas
- seats are not adjustable. You either fit in it comfortably, or you don't. I'm not tall so not a problem for me.
- no dash toggle switch for the winch. Only comes equipped with the plug in extension. Easy enough fix, though. Also the winch is live off the battery, not the key.
- online OEM parts sourcing is very limited. I think I found one place that sells OE parts online. My dealer is a half hour away, but I prefer to buy stuff and have it shipped to me. Lazy that way
- supposedly they come with crap air filters. I haven't checked yet. The day I rode it it was far from dusty. Uni makes one that fits.

That's all I got for now. Oh, I did get talked into the extended warranty. It comes with 1 year, and I got the Rider's Advantage for an additional 4 years. Threw it in on the loan (at a whopping 1.99% interest), so figured that was money well spent. I was probably going to buy it anyway, but when he offered 4 years at the price of 2, I said ok. It comes out to about $195 a year. Probably not bad insurance.

Yamaha dealer kinda steered me away from it. He said the powerplant is underwhelming (single cylinder 700).

Yep... my biggest concern as well.
They have other issues like red exhaust glow, floor board cracks by the bolts and the zerk fitting accesability, the debris that gets between the permanent skid plate and the floor boards, and yada yada yada. But dagnabbt, I am putting down some cash to test drive one in the Tn hills next weekend.

Have fun on the group ride, if I dont have an upgraded buggy by June.... I may have to sneak a ride with ya.

You wont tip it on a hill.... will ya?

I didn't think he ran on blood. Pretty sure it's alcohol in them veins. The only blood I've seen on that dude is in his eyes.

Just passing along info... it is a recent one. March 2 2017.

I don't think the 1000's have hit the sales floor, yet.

I dealt with Brenny's Motorcycle clinic in Bettendorf, IA.

I have yet to find the wheel travel. Would you happen to know the numbers?

Sorry, sure don't. If I get the chance to take one of the shocks off and cycle it, I'll let you know. There isn't much info online, other than basic specs and whatnot.

There is a dealer near Alton that just started selling the the brand. He did not have a 1000 yet either.

Msrp on 1000 is 13999.00, They said they had a used 800 on site.

Are they offering the 1.99 percent interest on all units or did you get a deal?
