Dear Sue & Kids,
It saddens my heart to know that Steve(Hopster) has passed
from this life. My prayers are with you Sue and your children.
When I first joined BN in April of 2007, Steve was the first
person I talked with. From the moment I met him on BN, I felt
as if I knew him all my life! I could tell he was not only very
passionate about buggies, but we also talked of family and of
friends. I knew then, whether I ever met hime in person or not.
I had a friend for life in Steve. Steve you will be missed by so
many! God bless your family and may God prosper your family
both in health and financially. And as Gods word says, To live is
Christ and to Die is GAIN! We all on BN gained alot in knowing
Steve and now Steve has gained everything! God bless STEVE
and His Family.

Todd Lowery(MADRANGER)

I'm so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. I recall that beautiful May evening at the first bash. Steve came wandering up to me and Talonman to get some help getting his buggy which had broken a belt. As we walked/pushed through the woods we talked. I remember how stoked he was about the turnout for the bash. A good guy having a good time. That's what I'll remember.

As so many before me have so eloquently stated,Steve was truly a good man!
My first post to Buggynews was answered by Steve, and he was very helpful. He then looked into my album, and said
'what a good looking family I had"!!!!!That meant an awful lot to me, having never met him! He really did care about people, especially the folks here ar BN.

I will miss him! :(

Mike

Hello there, I highly doubt anyone will see this but the sorrow I have dealt with his passing has been a weight on my shoulders I have had to bear my entire life, I just really want to say this. I never got to know him, I was roughly four when he died. Due to the lack of memories I didn't get to know him. The REAL him. I honestly just wish I could feel better but the more I suppress it the more the void consumes. I'm really finding solace in these posts about him, I even found some photos I have not seen. I now know what kind of a man he was, and I thank all of those for their respect to him. Thank you to all of you who have somehow read this. Best regards, Mitchell.

Don't be stranger. Did any buggy DNA pass on to you requiring you to climb into a cage and make motor sounds out of your mouth?

I was surprised to get a notification that someone had replied to this thread after all these years, then I was heartbroken to read your story, I fell asleep thinking about it .
I can't imagine how you feel, it's hard enough to lose a parent when you're older let alone at your age .
I am glad you are finding some solace in reading about your dad on this site, and I wish you good luck in the future

Hello and welcome master Hopster Jr. , I just would like to pass on my condolences to you and your family!
The best thing I can tell you about your dad was he brought together a lot of people who never would have met otherwise! And created a great site where many friendships were formed!
I would also like to tell you Don't Be A Stranger!!!!!!

Although I never met Steve he had an impact on everyone here in one way or another. I have personally met some great people on here because of Steve's vision, and I am happy to call them friends. I hope you find what you are searching for here.

Mitchell, Mitchell, Mitchell. So glad to see you take a look around on the ONLY site that I have been an active member on since i have joined. That says a lot about what your dad had created here. I am guessing you are about 13 now and hope you will continue to check in on us here from time to time and if possible in the future......join us in a ride or two!

Hey Mitchell. Your Dad led a grass roots bunch of guys into exploring the world of off-road buggies. A lot of the performance modifications that are easily purchased today were tested by him years ago. He brought a ton of people together and we had a great deal of fun!
