Did you ever ride that Wolverine? Curious on your thoughts.

Yep... went all over that mountain. Well, on the trails I was allowed on with a rental.

It did great... basically went everywhere I pointed it, yes the suspension is as good as what they say. I did not feel "beat up" after riding from 9 to 3.

Has plenty of power for where I rode, it does not throw you back though when you take off.

Felt comfortable on most of the off camber situations I was in. Nothing too radical but still enough to say.... hmmmm should I. A couple of times I did back out of the situation.

At the end of the day... I found out I rented the base model, no power steering and base shocks. Impressed me even more.

In a nutshell... I would / will own one someday.

I test drove a CanAm soon after my trip. An 800 commander I believe. At first I liked the wow factor at take off. Retested it again after the wow factor wore off and said that steering is too squirrrelly. Plus reviews are not too good.

Test drove the razor 1000... that will get me hurt.

Test drove the Teryx and it is a close second... but still second.

Test drove the odes... guy asked well..... well I know I do not want that!!

Looked at a Massimo, then I stopped by again and asked if he still had any to look again. He said worst thing he ever tried to sell. Won't sell them again.... dodged that bullet.

Still looking to test ride one like you have. Dealer in Alton have them but just started selling them. He said the 1000 was not out when I was there.

How do you like yours now that you have adjusted the rear fender?

Sounds like you are doing your homework, and taking your time. Smart man.

So far, I love this thing. Fun to drive, goes pretty much wherever I've asked, but I'm not riding it hard since it's still being broken in (and my name's not Gary!). Lined up against a Ranger XP 900 and he pulled me off the line and was slowly pulling away. I've been told that if I change the clocking in the clutch secondary that it will dramatically change how it runs (for the better). Stock form, I'm told it'll take the 800 RZR handily, but gets beat pretty well by the 900. Good machine, time will tell how it holds up.

Wetsu and I ran at TB last year and he got me the first time and the second time I won. Mine is a 900S so is less hp than the 900xp. I was impressed with how his ran.

Interesting. So the S and XP have different HP ratings? Is that the 68hp vs 75hp? This ranger was an XP so I'm wondering if it was the 75hp version.

Yes I know the difference - this guy has a 2016 Ranger 900 XP (not the RZR), the utility vehicle. I think he was claiming 75hp.

Yep... that 1000 rzr was crazy fast. Too much...

I am waiting to see what Yamaha brings out for 2018.... hopefully a bigger engine but we will see. Next thing to test is the other Yamaha that is out but then see what will be needed / involved to make it better for the woods.

I like running in the woods better than flying across fields.

Yeah agree on that for sure. To get to our riding area, I have to do some gravel road cruising, but otherwise, how fast do you really need to go? On the trail not very fast at all.

I did like the looks of that Wolverine R-spec. It looked like a good mix of utility and sport. Like I said before, the dealer kind of steered me away from it due to the unimpressive powerplant (his words). Never drove it since I already had my mind made up.

You do get a lot for your money with the cf moto. Heard good things about it... definitely on the possibility list still... I am leaning Yamaha but haven't signed the dotted line. Anything can happen. Would like to see the 1000 from CF Moto before I commit.
