I have a 2006 Joyner 250 cc. The low gear is out of it, when you put it in low it will move a little bit then grind. I checked to see if it was going all the way into gear and it was. I tore it down and all the gears look ok. I don't know why it's doing that. any help would be greatly appreciated

This is a hi/low 250?

There's a really good thread on this issue. Lots of pics.

Yes it has high and low gear high gear works fine but it will barely move in high gear so I would drive it in low but now low gear just grinds.

Barely moves in high? That sounds like a different problem. Is your clutch hooking up?

Yea it seems like it's underpowered it probably needs a carb rebuild or something but I looked at that other thread and my low gear looks identical to that one. I need new shift forks and a secondary shaft but I only found one website that had them and it's like 300$ for it. If you know of any websites that sell that stuff for cheap please lmk

If you read through that thread, then you know that finding the individual parts is nearly impossible anymore. You can try hammerheadperformance.com or Prattville Powersports and talk to Eric.

I just ordered a low gear for $50 hopefully that fixes it. I have a whole mother engine and transmission for it but it has the same problem.

You will need both of the low gear parts, the one with the male dogs and the one with the pockets. If you don't replace both it will just be a matter of time and you will doing this all over again and may not be so lucky on finding the parts.

a lot of the cfmoto 250 transmission parts have been discontinued or they will not make individual parts. the cost to have some of these made or the moq is to high to justify spending the money on parts for a machine that's not being made anymore.

What I don't understand if you can buy the shaft assembly, they had to make the parts for that. It sounds like just a way to get more money.
