Oh Ok...My speedo is good...shows F N R indicators and shows RPM, turn signals...just no MPH. I need just a pickup perhaps if mine is trashed?

If it's not gapped right, dirt will get in there and you won't get any MPH reading.

I have been waiting on a CDI from Carter for 2 months. They said it was on b/o, and it would be a couple weeks. My GTR has not run since May. After replacing all the electrical components, and finaly the wiring harness, it fired up. Only long enough to burn up the CDI. The wiring harness they sent me required a TSB correction for some wiring on the collant sensor. I have never been so frustrated with a company in my entire life. I keep promising to sell the kart as soon as I get it running. But we'll see. I just want to ride!

I called Carter today to check up on the CDI situation. I was told the same thing, "it's on back order, don't know when it will be in". The first lady I spoke could not have cared less about the sitaution. The second person I spoke to refered me to Buggynews to try to find an aftermarket one.

Chad has been very helpful, so is Chuck. Two good people working for a poorly run company.

Wow-it seems to go on and on at Carter-and there ARE some good people stuck in the middle. I don't know whom is calling the shots over there, but it seems their people "on the ground and in the trenches" are uninformed or so tight lipped about what the problem is that we only seem to get more "it's on the way" and "we are fixing the problem" type answers which we all know are frustrating.
It is truelly a shame that there are good devoted people on this and a few other sites that are bent on legitimizing mini buggies as a safe, reliable and fun alternative to the side by side and ATV market-yet the largest and oldest(maybe the only American)dealer is really hurting things...shooting themselves, and the industry as a whole, in the foot. I know there are a few members that seem to have Carter's ear...but do they really know and realize the scope of what they are doing? People see my GTR 250 and LOVE it-when they ask me about it I tell them the truth...good and bad-and that includes the horrible service at Carter and their recent downfall...
It is dissappointing because 2 years ago their service and customer support was second to none in any industry I have ever encountered. To go from first to worst is a far fall-there must be some explanation-and in turn-a fix.
Just wanted to vent-Carter is a dissappointment for sure.
