I'm assuming I have no warranty as I purchased it at an auction in Salt Lake City a little over a year ago.
I'm in Calgary, Canada. The Thunder Inc. website lists a few dealers here in Canada, but none in Calgary. I noticed today that there is one a little over an hour away, but don't know if they do service or just sell Joyners. I'm heading that way for work later this week, so will try and stop in and have a chat with them.

Thanks all for your thoughts.
Gundog....after reading your post, that makes sense. I guess I was hesitant to start "taking apart" the motor because I have very limited mechanical experience and no one to really help me with it (other than everyone here on the forum!).
Additionally, not having a service manual makes me nervous because I might not be able to get it back together once apart.
I guess I'll call Tuk Tuk USA again to try and get a manual for the 650 motor (they were all in Thailand when I tried a week or two ago) and give it a go.
You had asked about compression. It is 90 on one cylinder and 30 on the other. Burning a ton of oil (I mean it is like a chimney coming out of the valve cover vent). Happened almost instantly. Ran fine one night.....next morning couldn't get it started and when it finally did, it ran terrible and belched out the oil burning smoke.
Again, thanks all for your help.
This does not sound good It sounds like you may have a piston or ring failure or a burn't valve. You really need to pull the head and have a look. If you have a digital camera. Take pictures as you take it apart then you can look at those pictures when you re-assemble it. Also get some zip lock bags you can label them with a sharpe to put small parts and bolts in. Label the bags for each componet you take off this will help you remember where everything goes. Take pictures and post them on here. Take your time you can do it remember it is already broken. I would look into any possible warranty though. Here is a link to some of the manuals for Joyner. Mike
